Kia/Hyundai is only as good as the warranty lasts. Just remember that people, my mom learned the hard way recently.

Maybe your mom got a bad apple. I suggest checking out consumer reports to see how Kia and Hyundai rated.

@ consumer reports don’t tell the whole story either. Any experienced mechanic will agree on this.

mechanics would generally agree to these brands in order: Toyota/Lexus Honda/Acura Mazda (depends) Chevy, GMC, Buick Kia, Hyundai Ford Nissan (CVT) GM cars are about as bad, some models worse their trucks just make up for it, the thing is Kia’s usually need the big ones like engines/trans around 100k. GM will just have a bunch of small things break. That was my mom’s situation. Kia sportage just past 100k and it’s over. The value drops in this brand like a rock because of said reliability so the repair is more than the car is worth. Also not a lemon there is multiple lawsuits about the engines being bad. In fact I have known 2 othered with Elantra’s that had the engines die right after warranty. 1 of them was a speed demon but regardless they are horrible.
