@@djente7220 I am 100% behind a more snappy combat - "time to kill" being faster for both mobs and players. well.... maybe like 85% behind it. there has to be a tradeoff. we can't have 1 rotation kill mobs that are your level or 2 levels above you... that's not classic. Classic = your inputs matter, your prep matters. time invested matters.

Agree with you 100%. One big thing about vanilla combat Vs retail combat is that you can feel your abilities hitting and the impact of large hits and I don't think that will disappear either with these new changes. Downtime and mob danger is important as well, there is a balance where it's too slow and also a balance where it just turns into a whirlwind clownfest. Let's hope they get that right.

Definitely a decent idea, I personally am not to keen on the sound of that involving separate versions of Ashenvale you can be in. I would like to see them touch up the content after player feedback at the 25 bracket and releasing it again at 60 with appropriate rewards and challenges.

scaling gives a lot of people a sour taste in their mouth, it's more indicative of retail than classic. although I think it's a solid idea, Blizzard isn't designing around gameplay alone, it's also around player perceptions

Hey bud I think some stuff will definitely apply to current patch however any changes to drs and cc availability to specs I'm unsure of as I'm not playing currently! That add-on is called "big debuffs" I'm pretty sure.

not a noob question at all! The reason why def cap is overlooked a lot of the time is because you can totally get away without it. there are 3 really dangerous mechanics in classic as a tank: Crit - Countered by def cap Crushing Blow - Countered by shield block Thrash - Countered by lowering the damage of each individual attack and not leashing the mob so it doesn't store thrash attacks You can completely avoid a crushing blow by using shield block. if you have shield block active and charges ready to consume then you wont be hit by a crushing blow. Thrash is a mechanic where a boss can hit you multiple times. Certain bosses are really dangerous for thrashes (drakes in BWL instantly coming to mind). Each of those individual hits have a chance to be critical hits or crushes so The best way to overcome this is just going MH and shield and making sure shield block uptime is 100%. Which means none of the hits will be a cruch (could still crit but unlikely to die if 1 of 3 attacks was a crit and you have a high hp with either wbuffs or titans flask active). While crushing blow and thrash are overcome by gameplay, the deffense cap heavily relies on deffensive focused gear. The gear required to reach def cap especially earlier in the classic life cycle will highly limit your threat output potential and limit the DPS of your raid. Best advise is to make sure your HP is high enough to soak crits and use a shield as much as possible on bosses that can thrash to eliminate crushing blows from the attack table!
