not really, when it's in the caldera it's not making new land. When it pours into the ocean THEN it makes new land. The new volcano under the ocean is "birthing new earth" though.

@@poisxe kinda, it's more like a crust on a boiling pot, when the heat stops the lava turns to rock, BUT, when the pot is on the boil it all becomes soup again. This happens over and over INSIDE the caldera. It really only "builds land" that remains outside the vents or crater rims. NOW, next time she fills and over flows THAT will be an event. This is just normal pressure release in the pot. Looks impressive on screen. On google earth it's a dot on the island. The pressure has moved on to the new island forming off shore to the SE. Have YOU ever been to the Big Island? Volcano?
