So many silly stereotypes about the Scots. The Scottish are in fact either fighting each other or spending the day eating deep fried food, no vegetables/salad and then topping it off with a bit of heroin.

The Scottish unicorn came from the idea that the Norse played on us, Scottish people in antiquity believed that Unicorns really existed, Because people from Norway sold us Narwal tusks and told us the came from a unicorn, A horse with a horn

So if f you want to play that game then you’re wrong. If humans started out of Africa, then we are all originally from africa. So Indians are Africans and they also aren’t native to this land.

I wonder how many in the US realise that their Declaration of Indepence was based to some extent in the Declaration of Arbroath of 1320. Also about one-third of the signatories of that declaration were of Scottish descent.

Seen a lot of these "ask americans" things and this one is actually decent, the people aren't made to look like complete morons, you got some right, got some wrong, just like anyone here would about the US or pretty much anywhere else in the world they're unfamiliar with ... except maybe the language and geography ones lol. Decent set of questions to what seems like some decent people. Regarding the Unicorn, in heraldry the unicorn is best known as a symbol of Scotland: the unicorn was believed to be the natural enemy of the lion - a symbol that the English royals had adopted around a hundred years before Two unicorns supported the royal arms of the King of Scots and Duke of Rothesay

I think the freedom reference referred to - "for, as long as a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be subjected to the lordship of the English. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself." from the Declaration of Arbroath 1320.

We go back thousands of years but I do love the native Americans. I think they’re very proud people and I think the Yanks are very overdramatic 😂but they are our allies and they’re all Good 🇬🇧👍

9:38 - the unicorn has been our animal since before Scotland was formed in the 11th Century, it originated from our Celtic ancestry with the Picts before this time as the unicorn is heavily associated with healing and purity which translates to the Celtic culture we all know. Off the same rhetoric Scottish royalty chose the Unicorn as their coat of arms officially in the 12th century off the back of this history. Today, you can see evidence of the Unicorn still being our animal. On United Kingdom's coat of arms it is a shield, which represents Great Britain, guarded by England's Lion and Scotland's Unicorn. A subtle detail is that in this coat of arms the Unicorn is chained to the ground which signifies England's diplomatic conquest of our small nation since the 18th Century when the Act of Union was created.

I am Welsh, I speak the language as a second language. My Dad was English that’s what was spoken in the house growing up. I learnt Welsh mostly from my Mum, it’s an amazing language, one of the oldest in Europe. I’m proud of where I live, I have travelled extensively all over the world for many years but nowhere compares to Wales. I thought the answers to the questions were pretty good on the whole, at least everyone had an attempt even with the long place name which is where I lived when I first got married. We love tourism it brings in money that’s sorely needed so you guys will always be welcome here. 🇺🇸🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
