Is it better to have humbuckers or Single coils for some dreamy, shoegaze's cleans?

hi Will I’m wondering that in video 1:53-2:04, where you strum that fuzzy guitar, how you got that clear, balanced stereo distortion sound without running into a tonal problem. I’ve always had trouble with my guitar’s mono-to-stereo mixing, like I’ve tried adding reverbs, using a stereo maker plugin, and making two tracks with the same audio, but none of these have worked as well as yours. I hope to learn some useful mixing tricks. Ty

Love it. The first song I ever wrote was a Lush rip off for my teenage band in about 1990 using the open C shape up and down the neck . I used to tune to double dropped D back in those days.
@bananalabs2 күн бұрын
Haha nice! Double drop D? I’m curious to hear how that sounds! Thanks for the support🙏🏻

That Ostinato works well with the descending major chords. Very Lush sounding overall. Another great take on a Shoegaze band from my youth. Give Miki Berenyi a call to lay down some additional vocals! 😄 Love to hear your take on a Curve or a Swervedriver type track.
@bananalabs2 күн бұрын
Ahh so that’s what it’s called. Would it be a harmonic ostinato? Keep in mind I am not knowledgeable in music terminology. I learned everything by ear so it’s difficulty for me to even teach properly. Thanks for the support!

Perfect workflow! Do you have any video in which you specifically explain how to make the mix on the guitars (add chorus, compressor, reverb, EQ, etc?) like you do in this and other videos? By the way, I really appreciate the new detail of including the chord diagram visually.
