The hornet 1000 is a bargain, but I hear the seat is not comfortable, as a triumph 765. For me, how you feel when first sitting on the bike is important. You could always get an aftermarket seat. It does not have cruise control, either. It all adds up. I was thinking you would comment on the MT09 as it is, very much, along the lines of fun factor on the road, not much different than the Ducati mono 698, with high torque coming in at low revs, but still having lots of high end power.

I would say custom spacers maybe even an axle to go with it. I would not modify brake discs I don't think it would work out in the end the Brembo brakes seem to have very tight tolerances, there are probably spacers out there that will fit and work for that but good luck finding them. You can try modifying the spacers you have maybe they need to be more narrow or maybe they need to be wider. Install the axle in the wheels without the spacers and find the center where it's happy as and no rubbing on the discs, and everything looks straight. Then try to get a measurement on each side of what kind of space are you're going to need.😉

Hi, King! Have you ever tried windscreens for traveling on Hyper? I’m thinking of making a ride of 2200 km on my hyper 698. I consider i will need: 1) skyjdm motorcycle seat gel pad 2) alaska leather sheepskin buttpad (i heard some guy turned his supermotard into a heavenly comfortable tourer with these two solutions) 3) Saddlemen Sport Tunnel Bag (looks easy to install. Fortnine reccomendation) 4) 1 gallon armadillo gas bag I only cannot find a windscreen solution. A proper XL windscreen, that i will be able to install and uninstall as easily as other staff. Some shield like Hyperstrada 821 had. But i cannot find anything close. Have you ever thought of a screen for you touring? What do you think of my setup and my idea of such a long travel? You have traveled on Hyper and your experience and advice is appreciated. Thanks.

@@victors3803 Anytbing to make the seat/arse comfortable will help - I tend to wear padded cycling shorts under my leathers which usually takes me to about 2 hours of riding before I need a break or fuel. The lack of screen doesn’t bother me because I don’t really ride highways and prefer back roads so can’t get up to crazy speeds and I’m a small guy. Blame all of these Motorcycle MFGs for putting in these USELESS 1st and 6th gear ratios. First and Sixth are the most important and they couldn't have it more wrong: First gears are way too tall: have to fan the daylights out of the clutch to check your speed around a parking lot. FFS's clean idle in First is 25 mph: ideal speed to get dirty looks and run over in congested areas. Put a low 1st and 2nd in and 3rd, 4th, and 5th would actually get used!!!!! Sixth gear: ever heard of overdrive? With the power ANY machine has why on Earth does my bike need to be 5800 rpm on the highway?!?!? There is literally 500 rpm difference on my bike from 5th to 6th making 6th gear absolutely USELESS. The engine may actually last the life of the bike if it was at 3500 rpm where it belongs.
