Track Day Domination: 2024 Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono Unleashed!

Yes, only a few hundred miles on the bike and we are out on track pushing the single cyclinder 698 to it's limit at the 2024 April 30th Ducati Track Day at the WSBK Donington park here in the UK.
This bike is probably even more fun than the 950 SP on track being lighter, faster in the corners, super late on the brakes and can even use the rear slide brake control to get some nice skids while passing the Panigale's.
I've filmed it using a GoPro and the new Insta 360 Go 3 helmet camera to get a POV on track - the wind was terrible on the day and apologise if that spoils the experience but bear with - theres some good banter and commentating and a bit of off-roading!

I enjoyed watching that, I am looking forward even more now to my test ride. Your footage reminded me of riding my 1992 TZ250 at Donnington-you can carry masses more speed in the corners and brake much later than the big bikes-but then they just piss off down the straights……

My best time on the 950 SP around Doni is a 1:48 (ironically the same laptime as my R1).. so to only be 7 seconds slower which is probably the 7 small straight sections where i lose out on top speed

Its the 360 Go 3, the black one. I got a small magnet from Amazon, cut a small hole inside helmet left side in the fabric and glued the magnet inside there - then the Go3 just sticks to it using the magnet 👍🏻

Nice laps Kal I have a shit ton of videos behind the bars on my hyper but I don't want to post them because they're on the street if you know what I mean. I had one question what do you weigh with all your gear on that you would ride track with? Last time I checked I was 230 lb which is heavy for a rider. I would love to have an old-school two-stroke rz500 or something similar but I know I'm too fat for that bike😆

I followed the compression/rebound settings from the manual to their sportiest setting fror front/rear.. haven’t lowered the front yet. Rosso IV surprised me, rear grip and corner speed were awesome

Head shake sometimes occurs when getting hard on the brakes the handlebars start to oscillate back and forth. In other words, it didn’t appear the bike needs a steering damper. Correct? It looked pretty stable from all the hard braking that I saw.

@@hypermotardking yeah your 950 whilst it’s your fastest bike on the street , you can crack that throttle only so much until your doing felony speeds and shattering speed limits to the point where you could anger the cops and citizens of England to easily 😆where as on your 698 mono you can still have fun on a slower bike!
