Omg, listen, I understand that you don’t have some of the same ingredients that we have here in the US, but you cannnot take any random peanut butter, especially from France, and pair it with just any grape jelly. You actually need US ingredients in order to have the US experience, and that requires a few specific things, one of which, I even discovered an upgrade to, which is the bread. This is a flavor combination that, not one single person who I have had try it, has been able to not only deny it, but stop themselves from making sounds of enjoyment as they eat it. Here is the list: -First and foremost: JIF Brand Peanut Butter. Not sure if you can get it in France with food customs and shit, but this is essential. -Welch’s or Smucker’s Brand grape jelly (not jam, but specifically jelly and specifically grape).🍇 -Instead of some random sliced bread, use a Thomas’s Brand English Muffin (may not be available anywhere other than the US, I don’t know). And what you do is split and lightly toast the English muffin, not a lot, just enough to lightly brown the edges, but what comes next is one of the most important steps… You MUST apply the PB while it’s still hot from being toasted. The remaining residual heat will melt the PB. The reason why this is important is because, PB is an oil based food, and when oil is hot, it is better able to spread flavors across your tastebuds. Think of it as increasing the flavor of the sandwich by almost double, maybe even triple (I’ve never enjoyed PB&J as much as I do now with this recipe and I’m now 46yo and can’t stop eating them, I have at least 1 every day. Also need to hit the gym daily as a result. Also, there’s no need to use tons of PB, 2 regular tablespoons or one heaping spoon maximum and spread it to create a nice coating of PB. Next: Do the same with the jelly for the other half of the muffin. Then: Combine the two open faces of each half to create the sandwich. Enjoy, but be careful, now that the PB is melted, it will drip out the opposite side from where you bite, so you have to constantly lick the opposite side and perimeter of the muffin, to gather up the delicious liquid goodness around the edges. I guarantee you, you will understand m uch better after this, why Americans rave about PB&J, because it is a flavor combination that not even a Michelin starred Chef can’t deny, it’s just one of those discoveries that the human brain just goes crazy for. Savory, sweet, soft, moist, and chewy, but crispy and crunchy all at the same time. If you ever get a chance, please try this, you may need to come to the US to do it tho, but I promise you that you’ll enjoy it, at least way more than you did with what you ate in this video.

thank you for the many details 🙏 I was actually in the US when I made this video, and an actual American woman made the sandwich for me. I will forward your instructions to her so we can troubleshoot what went wrong.

I'm the American woman who made him the sandwich, right here in the great state of Virginia. I used JIF peanut butter and Welch's grape jelly on white bread, just like mom used to make. While I agree that melty peanut butter on an English muffin is delicious, it is absolutely not what anyone thinks of when you say PB & J, but next time Angel visits here I'll make him one.

@@LaRue6358 If you made it in the US, then I don’t have much of a complaint and if you used JIF too. I didn’t know this, which might be good to disclose in the video, cuz whenever I travelled overseas, peanut butter wasn’t the same, nor was jelly or jam. Yes, we overdo things in the US with sugar and high fructose corn syrups and stuff, but that’s also why we enjoy the shit we do so much. Thank you for clarifying, and also, yes, agreed, a melty sammich isn’t typical, it’s something I discovered along my life’s journey, but man did it improve the iconic food more than I thought was possible, definitely try it. Now I’ll have to adjust my claim, the melty English muffin version will maybe only increase ones enjoyment by only 2x (I don’t think 3x is possible if you already had the right ingredients). Thanks for the explanation!

@@frenchfluency Ah, that makes sense as all of my classes focused heavily on reading and writing, the latter which I tend to do well at. However, I had never found that to translate well into my listening comprehension. Perhaps I require more immersion. It's just confusing to me that after years of school, good grades, and thinking I'm improving, my listening still lags behind. So, I've been trying to find a method that works well for me (Pimsleur, Assimil, and not sure about comprehensible input yet). Channels like yours are great in this case because you have a lot of content focused on pronunciation of the actual spoken language, and how it sounds naturally/conversationally (based on what I've seen so far). I like speaking languages, but If I could trade it for superb listening I would do it.

Yesterday I had to translate the sentence ‘the green cow is watching television’. I was looking at it thinking I knew what it translated to, which I did, but I thought I must be wrong because it made no sense to be a green cow watching TV 😂 But I was right and it was just a nonsense on the app. So weird to translate a sentence I have never needed to say in my life!
