This is great man honestly I’ve personally judged brother Luther because of bias from the upbringing of my faith as a young believer but now growing in Christ I’ve come to a better understanding of this different brothers through history and the significance to their call in their time🙏

Beautiful! I hear many people preach 'simple faith', then tack on rules on how to dress, what color vehicle not to drive, who one's associates should be, what music to listen to, what foods to eat. Legalism runs rampant and the grace of God is left in the dust. It boggles the mind!!

Brother as a non denominational christian studying the church fathers and looking into a more historic church I fell in love with your music but what made you choose lutheranism over orthodoxy or catholicism? Some of Luther’s statements don’t sit well with me like him wanting to burn the book of James because he seen it as contrary to sola fide and what he said about the jews also his rejection of the deutercanon when the same councils that gave us the 27 NT books said books like Maccabees and Sirach were scripture then you see many new testament references like bearing good fruit and elements of the Lord’s prayer in Sirach as well as Hebrews 11:35-37 according to many scholars being a reference to a story in Maccabees also Jesus celebrating hanukkah in the book of John is a commemoration of the Maccabean story then also how the 1611 KJV and protestant bibles afterwards even until the 19th century still included these books personally I’m attracted to orthodoxy or eastern catholicism many don’t know there are different rites within the catholic church it’s not all roman catholic

@@ExtraNosAcademy Thank you yes I’ve listened to Dr. Cooper I definitely think Lutheranism is the best option if you want a connection to the fathers and stay protestant but 40,000 denominations is what gets to me Luther didn’t intend for people to break off his church and start their own so should he be seen as a schismatic starting a new denomination or as a continuation of apostolic christianity? Also with the deutercanon even if some of the fathers didn’t mention them many did and once the councils of carthage and other councils discussed the canon that’s when they were mentioned more then the septuagint definitely had those books even if there are not equal to scripture I think they should of been left in just in a separate section like the 1611 KJV there’s no denying the NT references to those books so just wrestling with that I only want the truth but I understand Christ is what saves us not a title

@@ExtraNosAcademy I forgot to mention also apostolic succession which many fathers seen as a mark of a church that’s really something that got me into this journey in Lutheranism do they have valid apostolic succession? catholics claim the council of trent reformed many of the things Luther protested and that it was mainly a corruption going on in the german church while eastern orthodox claim Luther should of just became an eastern Christian because they agree with much of what he protested both tend to blame Luther for 40,000 denominations

Luther was friar, not a monk. Bad start to this explanation. Luther vowed to become a "reliousness", not specifically a monk. The Augustinians were an order of friars.
