7:43, can i ask, How did you select this whole side with one click, I used control plus a, but it was completely selected
@maotrax116319 күн бұрын
quick question, does this method work on just specific areas of a modell? cause i want to add a voronoi/organic looking style to the side of a keyboard but that its just on the edges an noth trough the whole model

Can anyone explain how to give such an object a flat base and a hole at the top?
@parkerbelholland10374 ай бұрын
Probably a bit pedestrian of a comment, but moving the object in edit mode causes some "flatening" problems in the mesh. Moving it in Object mode seems ok tho.

I made one of these for D&D miniature's wizard staff. 3D printed in resin. It's looks amazing and unique, certainly a model that couldn't be made by injection moulding.

Do you have a video for how to do this in the latest version of 3DS Max? I have followed this video to the T one 4 separate new projects now and mine does not come out thick like yours. After chamfering, its all just single lines.
@luxxeon3d10 ай бұрын
Hmm. Unfortunately, I do not have the latest versions of max. If I could find a friend who owns a copy, I may try to redo some of these tutorials for the modern versions because clearly, some things have changed since I made these videos years ago.

Really nice. another youtuber made a super complex voronoi using bicycle helmet. For the time being just wanted to try a simpler method. Thank you for the work involved in doing this tutorial.
@Viminalis10 ай бұрын
I saw that one too! unfortunately that was for a different nurbs software - it's called rhinocerous and had a plugin called grasshopper which was the nodes. it's a paid software package although the plugins are usually open source. I mistakenly looked at that one hoping itd show me how to map the voronoi over complex shapes in blender. they're really similar but you can do a lot more in blender and affordably :) hope you found what you were after

Very cool! First time learning how to stack modifiers. What if I want to have a shape like a ring and apply these modifiers. It seems it only works with cubes? I've tried to apply this configuration to a hollowed cylinder but it didn't work. Maybe deleting the vertices? Thanks

Can this be done with any 3D object that is imported into blender?….
@kennabrown3865 Жыл бұрын
Yes, but you may need to take a few extra steps before you can apply it. It will depend on the quality of the file imported. Such as, convert the object to a mesh (right click convert to) and join the objects if it imports as multiple pieces and you do not want that. Then you may need to clean the uv mesh up with the uv editing tool first. Looking at the wireframe view should help you determine if you need to clean it up or not. For larger, complex items, the subdivision and casting steps may not be necessary and could cause the program to crash so you may try to skip those if possible. The final wireframe and subdivision stay the same

Honestly I thought I made a blender translation for this one back then, but I guess I was wrong. I'll see if I have time to put together one for this shape in thr newer versions of blender.

Good video, but What's with the over dramatic music and narration? You're building a shape with some modifiers, not leading a submarine into uncharted territory
@jansindelarr Жыл бұрын
Hello, thanks for the video! One thing is unclear to me though. Why are you moving the points exactly by 7 mm to turn the box into gyroid? I want to make a gyroid of different size. Should I scale it proportionally? The sin value in 2/3 of 20 is about 5.5, not 7, so I guess there might be some constant shift applied as well? Thanks!

I know this is old but wouldn't it be more accurate to smooth the verticies after the sub division surface if your computer could handle it?
