Love your videos, and I’m happy to see more classic tabletop games explained in Rulies style! Do you have any plans to cover parcheesi or cribbage? Those are a couple classic games that I always have trouble remembering how to play. Thanks for the great vids! I’m looking forward to seeing your next one 🙂

Ok… does anyone else have a hard time wrapping your head around the final phase of gameplay? We’re trying to figure it out. It seems like a mad scramble, and passing piles back and forth. So different than the first part when you have cards in the ‘stock’ pile. Help!

Hey Brooke! For your face-UP table cards, try building SETS (same rank). You can play ALL cards in a set AT ONCE later, giving you a big advantage! You can’t always do that, but at least make sure you have your strongest cards on the table. For the face down table cards, you’ll need a bit of luck. No way around that. Hope that helps!

I enjoyed your style of teaching. Humor is always good! I actually was looking for how to WIN at Solitaire….I’ve played online for several years and have never one- of course, most of them have the 4 min timer. What do these people know that I don’t?? Any ideas??

Great how many variations there are. We used to have a 3 as a magic. If you played this and the following player didn't have another 3, they'd take the stack. 8 was the mirror. 10 was the discard burn and 2 was the same as you had explained. Pretty identical to the rules you play. By far the best card game I have ever played!

My brother and I played this in tea houses trekking up to Everest Basecamp. Every night without fail, with people from all over the world. The moment I got back to the UK, I completely forgot how to play. Weird! Thanks for the recap!

Nope! Not unless you uncover them. You can sometimes try to set yourself up to get a card you need on the next pass through.

We used to play, 2 - Goes on anything and anything can go on it. 7 - Got to be another 7 or lower than 7. 8 - The next player misses a go. 10 - Burns the pack. You can do runs of three numbers in a row, e.g 3,4,5 or J,Q,K. If when someone puts a card in the play pile that's the 4th of that number on top of eachother it burns the pile.

Me and my friends play with some different rules. We play with 5 cards in hand, and if someone plays a 2 they can play any other card on the same turn. That applies everytime someone plays a 2 which means that a player can put more 2s and still put another card on top. 10 burns the deck.

I’ve known how to play Solitaire when I was 7-8 years old. I’ve always taken it for granted that everyone knows how to play, but I guess that isn’t necessarily the case, is it? I don’t know why I watched this. Maybe to experience a vicarious sense of curiosity at how to play that card game that used to come preinstalled on everyone’s computer?

Are you able to discard a card you just pulled in the same turn?
@Rulies

Great question! If you draw it from the stock pile you may discard it the same turn. If you pick it up from the discard pile you cannot discard it until the following turn.

Was thought this game as a kid. Still is some of the most fun with cards. Although i had alternative rules. 2 goes on anything. 7 also goes on anything, but the next card is lower. 8 the next player skips a go. 10 burns the pile.

Fun rule for when 3 or more players joker reverses rotation n something I like too call a jump in burn, if you have the remaining cards too complete a burn on the pile you can “jump in” and burn even if it’s not ur turn but you must be fast and remember too call it out
