Is there any chance to see cherry blossoms bloom in first week of May?
@GetToKnowJapanTogetherКүн бұрын
Hi Ana Grace Saab-san☺️ Thank you for your comment! If you go to Aomori or Hokkaido in the first week of May, you should still be able to see cherry blossoms. By the way, that time falls during Golden Week, a major holiday period in Japan, so everywhere will be quite crowded. I highly recommend booking trains and buses as early as possible. Wishing you a wonderful trip! 😊🌸

Last night I changed my plans to stay in Ikebukuro instead of Shinjuku for several reasons. Mostly I found a nice place with good reviews only 2 minutes from station whereas my Shinjuku place was tiny and a decent walk from station. I think as an older female traveler Ikebukuro will be nicer. I'm just starting to learn more about the area and your video is reassuring me that this will be a good fit. I can always do a quick trip to visit crazy Shinjuku any way. Thank you from New Zealand
@GetToKnowJapanTogether14 күн бұрын
Hello, Justine-san! Thank you for watching my video! Sending a big thank you from Japan. You’re absolutely right-Shinjuku is quite bustling and can feel overwhelming, plus the station is complicated with multiple exits. In that sense, I think Ikebukuro is a bit easier to navigate. Currently, the rooftop garden at Ikebukuro Seibu Department Store is likely closed due to renovations. The garden at Shinjuku Gyoen, however, is much more beautiful, so I highly recommend visiting there instead. I hope your trip to Japan will be a fantastic experience!😊❤️🩷

Hello! Marsionn-san, thank you for your comment. Yes, the train I took was Fuji Excursion No. 7. Hello! Thank you for your comment. 😊 The departure time from Shinjuku is mentioned in the video, but it was 8:30 AM. Hi, John-san! Thank you for watching my video. I’m not very good at explaining the location of the bus stop in words, but it’s right in front of the station. I bought my bus ticket in advance, so I’m not familiar with where the ticket counter is. However, there are bus attendants in the rotary area, so it would be a good idea to ask them. That being said, I think bus tickets might sell out on the day of travel, so you probably won’t be able to buy one then. I recommend booking as soon as your plans are finalized. Thanks for this video, can i clarify that by taking the Fuji excursion train I can get straight from Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko using the same express train. But I have to get down from Otsuki to buy another ticket of Y1580 in the station and get on the same express train? If so, will there be enough time for me to buy the ticket and get on the train? Its really confusing as before, we were told to get off at Otsuki station and get a local train which is another hour as its so slow. Many thanks in advance
@GetToKnowJapanTogether3 ай бұрын
Kon-nichiwa! itsmeeh Lala-san!Thank you for watching my video. If you're using the Japan Rail Pass to take the Fuji Excursion train, you can pay the fare difference for the non-JR section (from Otsuki to Kawaguchiko) when you get off at Kawaguchiko Station (though you may have to wait in a long line at the fare adjustment counter). You don’t need to get off at Otsuki Station to buy a separate ticket. I confirmed this with Fujikyu Railway over the phone, so there is no mistake about it. Since Fujikyu Railway is a different company, JR staff may not always be fully informed and might give you such guidance. Technically, that guidance is not incorrect. The standard procedure when transferring from JR to another company is to purchase a ticket for the other company before boarding. However, since the Fuji Excursion train runs directly to Kawaguchiko as a special service, you can settle the fare at the station where you disembark. However, if you take a train that doesn’t run directly from Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko, you will need to get off at Otsuki Station, buy a ticket, and then board the Fujikyu Railway. Be sure to book your bus or train to Mt. Fuji as early as possible, and enjoy your trip to Mt. Fuji!

@@GetToKnowJapanTogether you’re welcome! I arrived at Kawaguchiko two days after Sakura opened so I was able to see it in full bloom. Some tips for your future videos. • some hotels in Kawaguchiko have free shuttle buses from the station to the hotel • if you want to see Sakura at Chureito Pagoda, it’s better to go from sunrise. After 9am the line was up to 4hrs+ long and harder to take good pictures without crowds. I had lots of space and freedom from 6:30am - about 8am with no crowds • once the Pagoda observation deck becomes busy, there is a 5 or 10 minute limit you can stay before they tell you to get off and new people can enter. If you come early enough or in the evening, there is no line • besides the Pagoda, you should rent a bike for a day or half day and ride around the nearest lake, Kawaguchi. There are many other Sakura spots when riding around the lake and also the nice view spot, Oishi Park. • many people don’t know FujiQ Highland is free to enter unlike Disneyland or Universal Studios. You just pay for individual rides or purchase a day pass • JR railpass doesn’t work from Kawaguchiko station to Otsuki station because it’s a private line (Fujikyuko-sen / 富士急行線) These are some tips I remember for now and I can update later if I remember more. Hi, you can take a bus to Fujinomiya from Tokyo Station. Or maybe take a bus to Mishima and then a train from there? I haven't been to Fujinomiya myself, so I'm not sure about the details. The red app called JAPAN Transit is convenient for checking transportation times. Please check it out if you like.😉

Kon-nichiwa! J2 Production-san😁Thank you for your comment. I understand that some people might feel that way about popular tourist spots like Shinjuku Kabukicho Tower. If you like, please also take a look at my other Shinjuku videos! kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJalpWlmoNqhfq8 I also introduce some places that tourists don't know about. I especially recommend Chirin-bou. The prices are reasonable, and the food is delicious! However, be careful because the restaurant can get full if you don't go early!
