Here on Luke "TLC doesn't dominate my time" Thompson's recommendation (it's an inside thing). Just curious-are you able to give an example of Jesus creating feminine space (listening without counsel) in his ministry? Honestly, I can’t think of one. What does come to mind, however, is that instead of focusing on creating space, which is ever-present in its essence, Jesus chose to fill space with what he defined as quality. He brought Logos. He aligned his actions, words, and presence with authenticity and sincerity. By penetrating every moment with God’s grace (and at times not so much grace) and truth, he grounded and enriched the spaces he inhabited, making them meaningful and alive for those willing to accept his Logos. That, I believe, is the essence of true masculinity. I do agree that listening and being present in a situation of immense suffering is best if you cannot provide more to the space, but it shouldn't be the ultimate aim is what I am trying to say. BTW, I must say, your commitment to stepping back from the idea space is truly admirable. This is something that I think a lot of people are grappling with.

6:00 My wife has never resonated with these conversations, at least in the way they're typically had. Which doesn't mean that the things that we're talking about are irrelevant to her (or to people like her). But some things are not for everyone. And that's ok. I think our values and goals are the same, but the way that we think about them and process them are very different. And that's probably a good thing. Or a neutral thing.

This was a wonderful dialogue. It’s a profound insight that disordering the relationship between the higher and the lower, even for the best of reasons, can worsen situations, and I also think the insight that “problems also bring with them their own meta-problems”-that in working through a problem we can still be operating in its logic-is of profound criticality. I think from that we find a basis for humility, a need to focus on particularity (as you both beautifully noted), and also a need to just work on being aware of what is before us. “Religion and Nothingness” was great to hear discussed, and the phrase “you have to take the journey that is presented to you”-that’s powerful. I was particularly taken by the idea that an oath in the classical world was basically scandalous, which lead to the really really really great insight that helped articulate something I’ve felt but not been able to put to words so well: if you commit to something like a church, but reality eventually presents you something different, you’d then have to find a loophole against your oath, which is dangerous for the soul. That’s so fantastic. I’m going to work to remember that articulation. I agree that Lewis is worth reading into your heart, and I strongly agree on the idea that when we are struggling to find the right balance between competing responsibilities as a parent, then we should just turn and love our spouse more. In my grandparents’ house was a plaque that said something I’ve only found more true with the years: The most important thing a father can do for his children is love their mother. I have that plaque to this very day.

David's pun on "trialogos" seems to mistake the etymology of "dialogue" (or "dialogos") to be something about "two-ness", which is understandable since "di-" can mean "two" in some Greek-derived words (e.g. "dilemma",) but the "dia-" in "dialogue" ("dialogos") rather bears the meaning of "through" (and by extension, perhaps "thorough"); "across;" "between." A dialogue is not necessarily a conversation between *two*, as David implies, but rather, a "thorough" discussion which reaches "across" and "between" the interlocutors. So his pun is based on an etymological near-miss. Surprising in a man so learned.

Welcome back, Ken. It is interesting to watch you wrestle with the cycles of transformation God has allowed/created in your life. I encourage you to dig out the precepts and principles of transformation found in 1Corinthians 3:18, Romans 12:1-2, Psalm 37:3-6, Ephesians 2:10, and Matthew 5:16. Let me know if you would like to discuss further. I believe you can translate to the next gen of leaders and would love to help you do that. Have a strong day in the Lord.

Great conversation. Hopefully everyone understands what Jonathan is talking about and the terminology doesn’t make it confusing as if they’re talking about magic or something because talking about trans personal agents as angels or gods makes perfect sense, and I hope people are familiar with the way they’re speaking. Jonathan’s face when John started talking about bioelectric self organizing constructs that we all ready are making was priceless.
