Does that sheath pouch fit a Fjalraven DC4? Could be useful to put a field sharpener in there instead of an empty can.

Ok lets get this right its not a kabar its a navy mk2 knife and camillus made many mot then kabar. Comparing the 2 knives is like comparing apples to oranges. The mk2 is a fighting knife where as the srk is designed to be a survival knife( it should replace the piece of crap okc pilots survival knife). Now can you use the mk2 as a survival knife yes if thats all i had,and could you use the srk as a fighter yes if thats all i had. But in reality you got one knife designed to be a fighter and the other a survival knife.

I just got one. I look at this as it will do 80% of what you need well, 20% ok. In my mind everything is a compromise and I think this is about as flexible as you can get.

Yup, as soon as I saw it, it reminded me of the Becker BK-2.

I have the izula currently and I had the short kabar, but I was looking to upgrade from the kabar and I went with the 6. But I will still have the izula on my vest as like a last resort easy grab fight knife, and for smaller tasks.

I have both knives and i wish that SRK would be 7.5 inches like my Recon Scout.

I have a 6 and got some custom TKC handle scales and sheath and backer from them. Top quality stuff well worth it. Unfortunately they have discontinued the "knifebullder" on TKC website for the ESEE 6.

I would not try to pry open a door with it. There are other tools for that. Do not forget a Sillcock Key for Urban Survival and Get Home Bag.

SRK and CPM-3V. :-) The 3V SRK absolutely "ROCKS!!!" For me, it's the User. I have the USMC, WWII Reproduction Ka-Bar or Union Cutlery Combat Field Knife, for me, is a Collector and not a User. Good Video. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

I love my Esee 5 but it is so thick that I really can't find a good use for it. I ended up leaving it in my vehicle and it would probably best used to smash a window if needed.

My Winkler, HALF FACE BLADES , and TOOR knives absolutely blow that away. That is a cheap knife, and a no good sheath. Survival is not an accident get a good knife your survival might depend on it.

Kabar is a terribly survival knife, its a figjting knife but glock knife is cheaper and better imo

Murdered out? First time I've heard that. Subscribed! And I'm on the fence on knife lanyards. I'd rather have the knife fall away from my hands than have it dangle and twirl around my hand and arm after a hard hit n miss! I'm paranoid about that too... Good video!

The sk-5 srk beats a Ka-Bar any day. Ka-Bar is over hyped and over priced..

Love mine. So heavy duty; Here in Florida as long as you’re not a convicted felon, ANYONE can carry ANY knife or firearm concealed. No permits needed. Just have to be 18…seems to be working ok; just the normal amount of shootings and stabbings. Every day.

I would have loved to have a kit like that when I served in the Marines in the 1980's, but they didn't make anything remotely that good back then.

I went with the Esee 5 as my urban survival knife because I think ingress/egress is high priority for urban.

CPM 3v is not prone to chipping its a super steel known for being extra tough

I too live in Southern California. Was a knife dealer. Why don't I have this unit in the car? Because I am older and made a choice (no longer made) long before the Esee 5 came out. Only for that reason. A thing to consider when buying a knife (or almost anything) is as follows. If you are going to rely upon a unit and keep your life simple, don't buy a product unless it is 10% better. So, yes, the 5 is more than 10% better than the 4 for urban survival, for example.

Beating a kabar isn't a high bar. Although the Becker products perform well. A bk3 with a bk9 is a superior combination. I do own my share of cold steel as well, including the srk.

I don't think the navy seals get the 3v version. Im pretty sure they get the much cheaper sk5 version

Overbuilt tank. Designed for fighter pilots which there are very few of. And even fewer trapped in a downed plane. But if I could only take one knife. I'd grab the one I know I couldn't break.
