You might not be a fan of Toughness buffs, but hear me out. The Bonesplitterz' _Beast-Spirit Ju-ju_ is a double, and serves to bring members of your warband past two important thresholds. First, it brings your non-Hero damage dealers (including the man himself) from T3 to T4; second, it turns your henchmen into T5 15W true meatshields. This can put the whole warband on another level. In the list in the video, one would have to forego the second blessing and find 5 points somewhere else (leader/blessing) in order to upgrade that Morboy into the Totem Bearer that has the ability -- a little pricey, but he has the same damage output on a 3" reach. If you're willing to give up the pig (who can wind up overextended -- in danger and unable to provide _Waaagh!_ for the team), you can trade it for a fighty foot hero and a bunch of blessings, or another shield and a Wurrgog, whose triple can combine with the double to make a fleshy green castle for a crucial round or two. And because you can fish for better results with your Battle Trait, you've got a better chance to pull it all off.
@generallybadgamers7965Ай бұрын
Beast Spirit Ju-ju has been super good for me, for the reasons you listed. I don't take a Bonesplitterz list without at least one of the Totem Bearer, because it almost always makes a difference as an easy to use ability.

Battle traits enabled the dumbest (best) way to build 1-box Rotmire Creed where you drop 1 carrion catcher, build all the little guys with shield and buff up everyone (except leader who gets +1A and the catcher) up to T5. Then in game you gang up on enemies so they can't disengage because of your trait and counter them to death. Not good but very funny

I have trouble fitting him in too. His minions are wonderful but with only two dice it's tough to use him. I liked him better way back in first edition when you could shoot into combat.

The biggest tip for NH for me is the Wielder charge into 2 attacks Otherwise sequencing is so huge and playing scared/projecting power across the board is the big thing for NH in my experience. Its what you can kill (most of the time) Its what you can get to and what you can orevent your opponent frkm getting to. I think NH are going to struggle bug time if they arent the ones setting the tempo.

I don't think so. You already have great uses for your dice. Resurrecting the worst fighter in your warband, at the cost of not taking any allies, seems hardly worth it. I'd even say, if the flameseekers would've had this ability innately, it still would've never been used.

Clanrats from Skaventide leave so much space for kitbashing. It's really easy to convert regular rats to packmasters (I used hobgrot banners and slaneesh whips) or just greenstuff something. In AoS, weapon loadout realy doesn't matter, so it's also good to make some spear skaven from the ones that hold weapons in 2 hands.

The concerns of the quest for "fun" recall the plight of the social climber who hits her late 30s and wonders where the "success" and "happiness" she sought are. If you do not define the condition in advance, it cannot be achieved. Know exactly what you want from a game. I am loath to invoke generational generalizations, but this also speaks to the divide between the classic wargamer, who is looking for a game that will enable the players to model the actions of people in conflict to a dramatic degree, and the modern 'net-gamer, who just needs to feel like he is winning even though winning doesn't mean anything. Trying to please the latter palate is what gives us the much-maligned "standing in circles and pushing buttons" -- highly functional for the purposes of designing a game with close scoring, but utterly bizarre in the context of a fight. Extensive "lore" may be silly and burdensome, but when you divorce yourself entirely from the background, and every faction is just numbers and rules, players go through all the potential interactions and then become bored. The shine of gimmickry wears off quickly. _Enfeebling Wave_ or _Arcane Might_ or such a battleplan may be neat, but it's a gameshow. _Cursed Relic_ may be lousy from a win-lose standpoint, but it's given me many of the most cinematic moments -- the falling guards, the closing horde, the desperate breakout -- of my time in Warcry. You won't remember your W-L record, but you will remember the times your tabletop game played out like a scene from an action movie. This is not to say that I don't appreciate the effort that goes in to making these plans and packs. It's great. It would be nice if there were as much attention to other types of material, and not just appeasing the squeaky wheel. The beast fed on novelty chews it all up and moves on; it's a poor work-to-payoff ratio for the creator. Anyhow, some things that jump out at first glance: 1. Is there text somewhere that defines what to do when players are tied for "fewest Victory Points" at a decision moment? This could have bearing for certain missions, notably _Slay & Scatter_ , where at the beginning of the first round, both players will have the fewest points, and thus be placing objectives -- presumably unintentional. 2. _Passage Home_ lists two different rules for major/minor margins. 3. Handful of typos, at least three cases of "it's" instead of "its." Minor stuff. 4. _Killing Fields_ . . . I recognize that it's very hip and irreverent and postmodern-nihilistic and whatever, but an off-handed, referential genocide joke is unearned. As a professional comedian, I maintain that _everything_ is open to humor if you do it right, but this also means that I despise low-effort callouts that just aim to be cutesy and naughty. Maybe it was unintentional. Keep up the good work. Look forward to playing these and the narrative wackiness to come.
@CoeurDeColibriАй бұрын
Is the Arbalester not a consideration in Wildercorps gunline lists? It seems like a pretty strong artillery piece to me -- easier to disrupt than a Slaan, but very high range and a somewhat comparable damage output
@andrewmorris550Ай бұрын
So the Slann has bonus move/attack on a kill, it has no minimum range so it can't be charged down very easily, and it's far less squishy than an arbalester . An arbalester can still do work, for sure
@DaronSchmitАй бұрын
I really appreciate these! I'm probably gonna make some piratey packs out of them! With some creative liberties, you could twist these into a fun narrative arc, especially Loot and pillage and Harvest Moon. If you invert Harvest Moon to start with treasure that you have to bury and protect, you can use those locations as the objectives for Pillage and loot, then repeat the cycle. Additionally, if you had a mission where you got to the hoard, you could play that mission out, then hook it into passage home as a "get to the choppa!" Mission, maybe with treasures and stuff for extra points

From my experience trying to build with them they feel a step off from the top level stuff right now. The points are just awkward enough to make them feels like they are missing something but they are definitely close and can win tourneys for sure with some luck on matchups and dice!
@thesaltyseagamesАй бұрын
Like what Armoire said, they are very good, but they're just a step below the very tippity top stuff. The pieces are all individually good but they don't fit together with as much internal synergy as you see in the scariest archetypes imo.

I'm curious what kind of lists you're building and what you're losing to - we play casually, but tend to be a fairly spiky group - we've played most of the archetypes listed in this video, and Seraphon has always felt like it had an advantageous, or at worst neutral matchup

Do you guys have the different attitude to it all?

As a casual player, aiming to play in some local tournaments in the near future, I am a bit overwhelmed about what to pick for a more competitive and well rounded list and what to keep in mind while building it. It would be incredibly helpful for alot of players if you could maybe do a video in which you build a list from scratch, give your thoughts about what and why you include certain things and the playstyle you are aiming for. I know that this is asked a lot, especially with all the variations like "pure", "no oop UW", casual/competitive etc. in mind, but maybe you find the time and energy sometime in the future. Thank you.
