Renley approves seems like a great way to know if you’re purchasing a brush with mileage. On the other hand it may be like at my house and it’s the boxes from products the dogs approve. I recently purchased a couple of Heinz Jordan series 172 brushes that I am enjoying. Then handles transition from round to 3 sided and back to round at the ferrule. Easier to hold when my arthritic fingers are acting up. The spring is just right and they too are synthetic.

Wonderful selection & reasoning... got me playing with some ii hadn't used ( Princeton neptunes, fuumuu, renaissance artisan)... ii use a few waterbrushes on autopilot & some techlon royal talens all the time for mixed media, & forget to practice with better ones. Ty.

Mileage! It is important to know how much water a brush will hold. I’ve been frustrated painting and realized if I change my brush it would be easier. Thank you for the review.

THANK YOU for speaking the truth about paint brushes. I don't care how masterful an artist someone is- if that person needs an animal to suffer an entire life of torture so they have a few bristles of slightly better hair on their paintbrush than one of the synthetics available, that person should rethink their priorities. It's heartless.

Oh thank you so much for this comment! I so fully agree with this! It breaks my heart every time I see an artist using a natural hair brush, especially when they are painting some little animal and saying how much they love nature! Thank you for speaking up too 🫶❤️
