It 100% costs more through cruise line in every case. The reason is for the guarantee and vetting vendors to ensure they are legit.

I get that, but since I only paid $79 a night, I choose to look at as free. Especially since I don't have to pay anything extra like I would the specialty dining options.

That’s a great point and I completely agree with you. Places like Alaska that you have a chance of cancellation due to weather, which I saw happen several times while I was there with the early morning fog, I would recommend booking through the cruise line. I had unfortunately a glacier excursion cancel and was refunded before we even docked. While the third party can refund you they may not be as quick. I feel like third party excursions are better for less of a high stakes experience, such as a city tour or something close by so you’re not too far from the port. Great feedback, thanks! 😊

I didn't mention Princess since I wanted to give my experience and have not cruised with them yet. I am looking into cruising with them soon and their wifi package looks to be around $10 - $25 a day if you purchase by the day. They also offer plans such as the Princess Plus and Princess Premier where you can get the wifi package included in your cruise along with gratuities and drink package.

Makes sense, but I did find it interesting that the Wonder has more staterooms than the either of the other two ships. I have assumed Icon would have more staterooms.

Thank you for your feedback and I am glad you have done your research and have been able to talk with others to find answers to prepare for your cruise. Yes, I looked at a few things before my cruise, but I did make the mistake of not really paying much attention to the weather as no one really informs you to pack shorts just layers. I looked at the weather, but I was there for over a month, so all I really had to go by was historical data and just once again didn't think to look if bugs would be an issue when hiking. However, most of my decisions of what to do was at last minute on my cruise as I asked followers what they would like to see me do. I knew how many ports I would be visiting, but just didn't realize how tired I would be from constantly being on the go everyday with these ports. Some things you just don't know until you are there. I did make mistakes and I wanted to help others so they don't make the same mistakes as me while others are just beginning their research, and a lot of people don't have family and friends they can ask about Alaska. So, my intentions were simply to help others beginning their research, so they don't make my mistakes. Yea, it is a nice pool with a swim up bar. I love the restaurants surrounding it. Very relaxing vibe. I hope you don't have a lot of ships there when you visit. It does make it a little more comfortable with less people, but at least the temps shouldn't be sweltering at that time, that's a plus.

I probably would only purchase the social package if that is all you are wanting to do. Yep, I will switch back and forth between my laptop and phone with one device plan.

Oh that’s good to know with Princess. Yea, I have experienced a few times on Carnival I could send and receive texts iPhone to iPhone without paying extra or paying for the WiFi. But, it doesn’t it happen all the time which is why I didn’t mention it in this video. But, thanks for letting me know about Princess.

There are fights on other ships, you just hear about carnival more.

The Wi-fi packages can be purchased for the entire cruise sailing or you can purchase it by the day. The prices I showed for Carnvial were by the day. The prices I showed for Royal were by the sailing, but I believe I mentioned if I purchased it by the day, it would be $23 with the discount they offered me. Let me know if I didn't answer your question.

I went on RC last year. You can buy for a 24 HR period. You can only buy once you board. I'm not elite or anything and it was $29.99 per 24 hour period.

Thank you for your feedback. Some people forget to sync their phone up to the ship's time from the port they came from. I referred to it as ship's time because this is what the cruise line refers to it as and will tell you to be back by ship time. Roatan is one place that is a little different with the time as well. So, basically I was just stating that make sure the clock on your phone or watch is the same time that the ship has and not the local time. The ship time does not always match local time. You don't have to give personal information on a Facebook group. You can join without giving personal information and you can set your personal Facebook page to private and people in the group cannot view anything that is not private, but to each their own. Yes, I always recommend reviewing ships on KZbin there is a lot of great information to be found on KZbin to get you ready for your cruise. Thank you for your feedback.

@@tpstravels I’ve never heard of the ships clock not matching the local area, I’ve been to Roatan and it was the same as the time on my phone.

@@Retiredtraveler1961 Phones don't always sync to the local time when they should. It depends on the Sim package you've got and the phones time settings. It may not update until you're on land or up on deck. I've fallen foul to this a few times and missed breakfast in the restaurant and had to use the buffet.

Well, that's harder to not overpack when you stay somewhere before and after your cruise. I do the same thing every time. I stayed a few days in Vegas myself. Thanks for sharing your recent experience. I did notice Ketchikan is a little rainier that Juneau as well when I was there.

@tpstravels Had to stay in Seattle at least a day before we set sail from Seattle. Didn't want to risk our flight being cancelled or delayed. Didnt want to miss the ship. We arrived in Seattle late at night then had a full day before the ship left Pier 91 for Alaska.
