YES and I was actually shocked. I've had 10 plus cruises and only once had my CPAP machine held. This upcoming cruise I have my prescription as back up.

You should be able to check with your cruise line for accommodations to use your CPAP. I've heard of some who have had to talk with guest services about this.

Cruise lines instruct passengers that CPAP, BIPAP, nebulizers and concentrators are allowed but must be hand carried on. Check the websites.

@@MJinFloridaI was on a Carnival Cruise years ago, and before we sailed they kept calling my name to call medical. I was like what? And they wanted to know if I had my asthma Nebulizer. I never told them that I had asthma, but my roommate told them that she needed it. Because the room was in my name they contacted me. She called the Medical unit and things we're straightened out.

I was able to bring my knife from Alaska. I walked up to security and turned it over.. they gave it back to me on the way off the ship. Very nice custom skinner ...

I have been on two Royal Caribbean cruises in the last year and was wondering about the power strip you had confiscated. I have a round retractable power strip that I actually purchased from the cruise ship store on Amazon; brought it on both cruises and it seemed to be fine. I was just curious how your power strip differs from mine that it was taken.

Mine has a cord that isn't retractable, but it does say cruise approved but apparently Royal Caribbean is taking anything with a cord now just for any confusion. That is also what the crew members told me that if it has a cord they will take it. So, from here out I am just going to take the charger block to avoid any confusion.

I was just on a Carnival cruise to Greenland, both ports were cancelled, saw Greenland but did not set foot on Greenland soil.

for 6 bottles, what would have been the cost to mail it or UPS it home? or could you not have left in your car?- like a quick trip back to your car and drop it and go back to the cruise port?

I am not sure how much it would have cost. We did talk about it and should have done it, but oh well. We didn't drive as we flew from one cruise port in Seattle directly to another cruise port in Maryland. If we had a car, we definitely would have stored them in the car while gone. Oh well, it is what it is.

On our very first cruise we bought a bowl made from like bamboo from one of the merchants it was taken by Carnival security because it was a plant from the local environment.

Ah yea that was something I didn't mention plants and living things cannot be brought back on the ship. Were you able to ship it home?

Never had anything confiscated. I did buy an ulu knife in Alaska years ago but it wasn't confiscated and went straight into my luggage. If I can afford a cruise, then I pay for alcohol then I'll pay for drinks rather than trying to sneak any onboard.

Nice! Yes, I do believe most cruise lines will just hold your knife for you but I have heard of instances where this wasn't the case. Now, I am not sure what kind of knife they were trying to bring back. HAHA. Yea, we don't bring bottles of wine or soda on rather we just purchase drinks or have a drink package. I just so happened to have my bottles with my from my previous cruise. We don't usually do a back-to-back cruise where we obtain alcohol on a previous cruise. This was a first for us.

Well, at the moment, I have only been on Royal and Carnival. Mostly due to the fact that they offer me free cruises as I only have to pay taxes and gratuities. I have been on a lot with these two and I can say I do like Royal better, but the Excel class ships on Carnival are nice too. I am really excited about 2025 and looking to start cruising MSC (hoping to get on their inaugural of World America) and Princess. Although not a fan favorite it appears I have played with the idea of cruising on Margaritaville this year, but still deciding on that one. What cruise lines have you been on?

@@tpstravelsfor my international travel I have chosen to fly. However, I would like to experience a cruise at least once. I'm no spring chicken, I'm an autumn hen, so I don't want any party style cruises. However, I do like fun activities to keep me busy.

RC changed rules earlier this year that anything with a cord will be taken. Doesn't matter if its a non surge.

@tpstravels yea it's an unfortunate rule. I have a block I bring. It's very much helpful for older ships. I went on vision and there was 1 plug that worked in my room with a malfunctioning ac....my outlet was taken up with a fan when I was in the room! Maintenance could never fix. It was so hot in there!

@@tduck828 Oh yikes that's awful! I would hate for that to happen. I was on the Carnival Firenze recently and our outlets kept going out. Maintenance had a hard time fixing it.

I recently sailed on the allure in May, and was able to bring my curling iron and my non-surge extension cord. No problem.

@joansarratt that's good but I wouldn't always bank on getting it through. Any power strips with cord are considered extension cords and prohibited. They are getting strict about it.
