It's so much fun to watch your projects! You help me live a bit through your projects while waisting away. At least my mind is still full of ideas and hope and enthusiasm😂 It's also really nice to see how Roger and you are growing together and are working on communicating. You remind me of my mother and I. We are also two unlike personalities with naturally very different communication styles, but we love each other so much that we can bridge those and have the motivation to find a way that works best for both of us. It's a lot of work and back and forth but we are always doing our best not to hurt each other's feelings and make each other happy. I see that in you two too❤

Yes, I wish we had that over here in The Netherlands too because it's an amazing concept that works really well. Some of the furniture we put there was gone even before we left, and it's really nice to see that people are going to reuse those things.

You are doing great, spiders and bugs are scary! However that being said, by the time you are finished you will have gotten used to them. Just keep the hover close by. You will conquer this fear, I am sure!!
@EvasHomeVintageDIY9 күн бұрын
Yes well the funny thing is that over here in The Netherlands we have way more spiders than in Sweden and especially in autumn there are thousands, and they are everywhere.... but I somehow never get used to seeing the unexpected ones that just pop up out of nowhere, and I was just answering a comment from someone about this and this made me realize that that's just it... it's the unexpectedness that triggers the fear not the spider itself because I can be in a space (like the barn in The Netherlands) full of spiders but when I know that they are there I'm fine… Interesting right? Food for thought.
@kylieharrison37829 күн бұрын
Spiders! 🙄 you wouldn't survive in Australia, that's for sure.
@EvasHomeVintageDIY9 күн бұрын
Well I think it's very interesting that I have this reaction to spiders because they have never done anything to me, and we don't have huge and dangerous spiders over here like you guys have in Australia so it's a very irrational fear and that's also why I am talking out loud because I am trying to train my brain into thinking that it's fine because it is. I have never let my fear stop me from doing anything though so it's not all that serious and after an initial reaction I am actually fine for the rest of the day because then I just know that there are spiders and then my brain is prepared for it. So I guess it's the unexpected part that triggers the reaction.

Where are Rogier and you going to sleep? Separately? Bathroom for Rogier and you? If Rogier needs to……p…… he has to walk all the way to the other side of the house? Big rooms are often difficult to heat in winter! But otherwise looking good. 👍🏼☺️
@EvasHomeVintageDIY9 күн бұрын
Hi Ineke, We are going to sleep together. Right now we are sleeping downstairs in the white room that we have there next to the kitchen, and we will sleep there until the walls age going to come down, and then we have to temporarily have to find another place to sleep until we are going to have time to create a really nice and big master bedroom up in the attic with an ensuite bathroom too.

If you hadn't thought of it and if it fits I would recommend adding a toilet to the shop (maybe under the stairs) so that anyone working in it doesn't have to go into your house to pee or get water for cleaning etc. The plans look interesting
@EvasHomeVintageDIY9 күн бұрын
Hi Lea, thank you for sharing your ideas. There is not going to be anyone working in the shop because it is just going to be us and a bell on the door so that people can call us when they want to buy something , so it's going to be really simple. It's something that lots of Swedish people have in or around their house in a barns and sheds all over the country.

Love all of your plans but, not sure of the space but am thinking any family, particularly with children would like even small, separate bedrooms to one large area that doesn't give privacy. Also, eliminates need for support work freeing up more money for exterior buildings. Just a thought.

Hi Elisabeth, thank you for sharing your ideas. We are planing to create more rooms upstairs in the attic with stairs going up but for now we are just going to start with work on the downstairs. We really want things to feel spacious.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to let you guys know that we are in Sweden right now and we have started to do some demo! It's all very exciting and fun but there wasn't much time to film an entire video before we left so this is unfortunate all I could manage to upload this week. I still hope you like it and I also hope it is going to be helpful to know where everything is. I will be back soon with some more exciting content about the new house! P.s. I'm also a bit slow with responding to all your sweet comments but I will do that as soon as we are back so just keep them coming because we love hearing from you all!

Loved hearing your thoughts about the changing seasons and how winter is approaching, and a break is coming with it. 😌 Made me think of what Jonna Jinton here on YT said in her "Living with the Dark Winters in Sweden" video: "A flower would never force itself to bloom in the cold winter, so why would we?" 🥀🧡 Love the apron btw! Made myself a similar one a few weeks ago in light green 😊
@EvasHomeVintageDIY9 күн бұрын
Hey hey, I do know Jonna Jinton but I have not seen that video about winter. I will look it up! There is also a really nice video about this made by Kalle Flodin called Living with Dark Winters in Sweden, I believe. Really nice btw that you made your own apron… mine was store bought so I just made it a bit smaller.

@EvasHomeVintageDIY25 күн бұрын
