Yeah waiting for a Metro bus for over 50 minutes for a bus that should come by every 20 is a great public transit system LMAO. Just take a car and you will at least avoid the rain. This lady is out of her mind about how great Portland is. And the food scene is just so so. It isn’t NYC or even close.

These prices are hard to imagine for us Californians. What would $750,000 get you? Can you even find homes at that price point in some of these towns?

I'm so glad I happened across your channel. I grew up in Wenatchee and left when I was in my early 20s. I moved out east, then found myself being drawn England 13 years ago. One thing I'm grateful to have heard you mention in this video is Gortex or Gortech (?) I'd forgotten about that, and that is exactly what I need to find here in England where we have rather cool/cold and wet autumn, winter, and sadly, spring! Our winters are cold, but not Wenatchee or Ohio cold! 🥶

I bet England is beautiful! The brand name is GORE-TEX. There are a lot of other brands out there now too!

Ooof! $250.00 to $500.00 a month for electricity? That sounds very expensive compared to what I pay per month. But I left Wenatchee a long time ago. I pay £112.00 a month at most, but that's in England. You say that that's the lowest for the national average? Well, in that case, I guess you have a lot to be thankful for! I do miss Wenatchee. It's such a beautiful place, and as the saying goes, there's no place like home x

Hi Julia, Welcome to the channel. The $250-$500 electricity bill is not in the Wenatchee area. The electricity in Wenatchee is much cheaper. I'm paying between $40-$90 per month.

My family is west of the Cascades so I've been thinking Belfair/Bremerton to get away from the Seattle/Bellevue high costs. That said I'm really attracted to Wenatchee and Yakima but those might be a bit too far from friends and family.
@LivinginNCW
@LivinginNCW 12 күн бұрын
I hear that. We definitely enjoy the pace of life and weather in Central Washington. If you are really close to your family on the west side it might not be the best idea for you. I do know a lot of people that take the train from Wentachee to the west side so they don't have to do the drive.

Leavenworth is a horrible tourist trap. Driving through it (only because we have no other choice in the winter) makes me nauseous. The tourists have no idea how to drive or much less how to follow the basic pedestrian rules. Whoever would consider buying there needs there head examined. What a horrible choice

2020 hit Portland hard. Fentanyl, riots and obsession with being victims and causers has made it a difficult place to be. Now it's so obsessed with race, trans everything, trauma and fragility, you can't even get through a night at a house party without a 30 min conversation with someone crying who is a professional victim and needs to tell you all about it. It's all a bunch of "I just can't" to the point where the city can barely accomplish anything. Gen Z needs to be covered in bubble wrap to even handle their basic day to day. It's got incredible parks and nature, good food, and fun art installations, but the cost of living and high taxes are way too high for the amenities this city has to offer and the job market is crap unless you want to make barely enough money to live in your car. I've lived all over the world and chose to put down roots here when it was an amazing fun place with busy streets downtown on a Saturday night. Now, it's a shell of itself with businesses and residents leaving in droves. Meanwhile, we have the highest income tax in the country but somehow just can't fix our potholes. It's a great place if you want a future making $22 an hour with no retirement at 70 years old. But being surrounded by a bunch of people who "just can't " isn't usually the best environment to foster long-term success. Homelessness and crime are no worse than any other major city (just ask people that live near skid row or in NY that have to deal with the national guard in the subway.) It's the cancel culture and liberal indoctrination that will be the reason I leave. It's really sad because I absolutely love this place. But I can no longer be forcefed liberal indoctrination through a tube. It's too much.

I live in Eastern Washington and we have very little crime compared to the westside of the state. In it is too easy why Mercer Island has no crime. Low life criminals can’t afford to go there. You have to be rich to afford to even hang out on Mercer Island. Being an island helps too.

Portland is a great place to move to if you want the windows broken out of your car and face a knife-packing homeless dope addict. The "Portland vibe" attracted liberal and "open minded" and ever so "progressive" folks who voted in open drug use and sanctuary-city lawlessness. Don't even drive through The Roach City.

In the last several years I've seen a dead person or two in downtown. Ted Wheeler's coworker are child molesters (literally) Mr. Mingus Mapps and Sam Adams. Federal agents try to protect us, by having investigations. Rent can be raised 10% a year or anything if the apartment is less than 15 years old. @@TheGlitterMan

Do not move to Oregon. Oregon in itself is a nightmare. For one the justice system over there is absolutely insane. It is nothing short of a human trafficking situation. Does judges get paid and own stock into those jails which are paid over $175 a day for each inmate. Yoga to prison for driving without a license. They also love to separate you from your family and has happened to thousands of men. Stay out of Oregon
