Shades of Cool describes her now ex, who was suffering from severe depression, and not being able to reach him through that. Beautiful song ! The music video followed the music video for her song "blue jeans" and "born to die" where the man "kills" Lana, and then in the Shades of Cool music video, it's as if the man grew older, and is haunted by Lana's ghost. Such a great storyteller !! Great reaction, as always ! This is one of my favorite songs. Anything Lana is great ! God Bless, sir !!! 😊
