Chase Bliss Generation Loss mkii Demo of the 12 tape models using familiar sounds

In order to hear what the various tape models on the Generation Loss MKii actually does to the audio, in this video, I run some familiar sounds (that aren't just electric guitar) through the fx pedal.

Oh man I thought I was the only one who couldn’t tell the difference between 11 and 12. They’re by AMULETS and blank.for.ms respectively, and I guess they had exactly the same ideal tape machine in mind 😅😅😅😅 and yeah, completely agree that the thing could do with some notches to denote model type!

Always a conundrum. But maybe start with a fleamarket dictaphone? If you find yourself using that a lot in recording music, then the Gen Loss is maybe worth it? Or not

I agree about the model knob. It really seems like it needs to have stepping to it. This is a pedal I really want to love, but the more I actually hear it, the less I actually want to have it.

yeah... A stepped knob would have been a lot better. As it is, it would be annoying in a live setting. I quite like the sounds it can make tho

Hi Editing Martin. I agree on the ModelKnob not being to obvious in which mode it is currently on. When recording I sometimes use the free midi plugin (unfortunately only for Ableton Live Suite users). I think using only a tiny bit of Flutter, Saturation and Flutter gives much better results. No need to crank those fully up.

yeah, I get that... In this video I wanted to maximize the potential differences between the tape models, so as to hear them more clearly. I probably wouldn't use the pedal like this in a song

I would expect the saturation to be different in different models, so that should probably be full to show the differences. Wow and flutter seemed to be the same in all models.

the flutter at least is consistent between the models -- my understanding is that the models are either an IR or an eq profile only.@@MartinYamMoller

NGL this video saved me about $400 It would be a “nice to have” but not something I need since I have gear and apps that already do those effects

Hello. Thank you for that. I already gave Gen loss mki by cooper fx not cba, with noise mod chip. Also have the Gen loss card in arcades and recently got bygones by 3degrees audio [ in hue]. Do you think it's worth buying the cba Gen loss mkii as well? Thank you.
