wonderful introduction video! agreed, john steinbeck's of mice and men's a good book. his east of eden and grapes of wrath are good, too. read some oprah book club picks years ago, not too bad. my grandfathers were an educator and photographer and so, i get my intellectual and creative pursuits from them. i read anything and everything, mainly history right now in honor of my genealogy project. thank you for sharing 😊

Oh interesting, I’ve been getting more interested in history lately but I’ve always been more of a science person myself. I think I may be too scared to delve into my ancestry but oh wow, does it sound like an intriguing project.

Hey, Nicole! So happy to see you on to your next adventure. You had me at gardening, writing, hiking, and now books! Four of my favorite things. You'll maybe remember that I garden on almost two acres alone in Georgia. Each year it becomes more challenging, but I'm staying up with it. And I'm a writer, still working on my manuscript for six years now. I'm liking it more and more. Still hiking some every week. And now you're going to talk about books!!! YAY!! I'm so excited. I definitely will read Husbands. Oddly, my least favorite book was a HUGE hit and my favorite book is by the same author, Elizabeth Gilbert. I struggled to finish Eat, Pray, Love. But, my favorite book for inspiration is Big Magic. You already know your big magic, but I still think you'd love the book. It's one you can pick up and read a little hear and there. I'm sure I've read it ten times by now. Love having you back! Doleen from Georgia

Hello!!! We have so much in common but we already knew that! Eat, Pray, Love was an absolute favorite of mine 😂 but I have a girlfriend that hated the book/story. Reading is so personal. I will check out Big Magic🙏

Love the artwork Tigger. Question. The one book you would recommend to a non reader you think they couldn’t put down?
@TiggerTellsTales3 күн бұрын
Thank you! Hmm good question and an almost impossible answer to give. Reading is very individual…a book I love and can’t put down, they may absolutely hate. I think I would tell a nonreader to find a book under 300 pages, that has a similar storyline to a favorite show, doc, or movie, preferably by a well-liked author. Then tell them that reading is just like going to the gym…it takes a bit to train yourself into the habit. At first it makes you tired and then after a few goes (or books in this case), you can’t imagine why you once watched so much tv as the book is always better 😀

Were you planning on stopping after PA?
@TiggerTellsTales4 күн бұрын
Honestly no, when I arrived at the 501 shelter it just felt like I had come full circle. My hike started there. I felt so good and that 125 miles in PA was the easiest I had done. Unfortunately I was also bored staring at my feet for hours each day and missed my creative outlets. It just felt right to end my hike…I had learned everything the Appalachian Trail had to teach me at that point. The hike was very meaningful for me.

Thank you so much and yes photography is a huge part of how I express myself. We can talk about as often as you would like! I’m feeling really creative again. The hike definitely opened up my mind to new things. How are you feeling about Adobe these days?
@amerphoto14 күн бұрын
@@TiggerTellsTales So happy you are back, I missed our conversations. My photography has been in a lul lately as the waterfall photography I love so much in the fall is as dry as a bone. Adobe is really advancing lately. I have not looked too much at the 2025 version of Photoshop but there is so much more that is possible in Lightroom now with the masking that I used to do in Photoshop. Been playing with the removal tool a lot and the masking using a gradient tool and then the color range mask. Ai is really changing post processing. Take care my friend and talk to you soon!

I sure hope you do not get any poison ivy! When you were doing the Pennsylvania Rock Maze there was a bunch of it in the video. Hope you did not make contact. It is the most awful thing you can get. As a boy, I had it so bad that I had to have cortisone shots and the doctor advised me and my mother to find out what it looks like and stay the heck away from it...advice I have followed ever since to this day. If you carry fels-naptha, yellow bar of laundry soap, you can wash with that if you suspect you made contact. Pennsylvania is known for Timber Rattlers, both black and yellow phases, be careful! Daniel

That was a black racer. They shake their tales to mimic a rattle sound when they are startled or feel threatened.
@TiggerTellsTales5 ай бұрын
Thank you, that was the 2nd snake and wasn’t the one that jumped at me. The Rattle snake I didn’t get on camera. I saw it’s tail and it had a shovel head.

Now that would give a startle for sure. Totally understand not getting it on camera. I'd be more concerned with safely getting around it as well. It's been a bit since you've posted. Hope you are doing okay.

Rattlesnakes, what?? I never saw one on the whole trail, although I am hard of hearing! Stay safe!
@TiggerTellsTales5 ай бұрын
They are everywhere in PA. I’ve stopped taking out my phone when I see them now. They sun on the rocks. I’m surprised you didn’t see any. They don’t always rattle either.

Hope you're doing well. It took me 3 summers to finish. I can be a big elephant to eat in one summer, especially for us mature folks. Was in Alaska last week 1st Grizzly on trail about 40 yards.

Have you tried any of the lotions you can use to protect against poison ivy?

No I’ve never heard of that. It would probably be heavy to carry enough to do your body every day though along with sunscreen. I already have it on my hand ugh

I didn't realize Pa. was that pretty, I have friends there that I have taken Elk hunting, They keep trying to talk me into going there for a visit. Next time I am in Va. I might have to jump up there for a bit. How are the Saloman's treating you?
@TiggerTellsTales5 ай бұрын
It is very pretty but the hiking on the AT is tedious with all of the rocks. There is definitely better places to hike in PA honestly. The Salomons are good but very slippery (the tread could be better). No tripping or ankle rolling 👍
@stanthemanhikes29655 ай бұрын
Cafe 101 in Boiling Springs is such a nice place. I’ve been there many times. Looks like you enjoyed the rock maze and pastures of PA. I enjoyed them as well. Hike on 😊
