Happy mother's day, Nicole! You poor dear with your leg so injured. So happy your trail family took care of getting you to a doctor. Loved seeing the trillium. Gorgeous!! And we all thought hell was down :) Sending much love and hopes for healing!!!

Wow your leg ouch. I m wishing you a speedy recovery. You can always catch up to your tramily when you get back on and just go back to what section you missed. Hope your friends didn't get hung up in those storms last week. Rest up🌲🌼

Wow you are one tough lady to hike thru that. Right choice to get off and let it heal. Prayers are with you. And you are correct the entire AT is tough on the body. I loved the birds chirping and flowers blooming. Made me miss mornings on the trail. Be well and hope to see back out there heading north!

Thank you so much for your support Stan! It’s a challenging injury and I’ll have an update soon. Mornings on the trail are wonderful, I love those same things 🙏🤞

I agree that you need to get off the trail and get medical attention for that contusion on your leg. Recently, I was sitting in my makeshift blind photographing Wood Ducks. I was very stiff from sitting and fell while trying to get back up...fell on a sapling that a beaver cut that was like a pungi stick used in boobytraps. It formed a huge contusion the size of the palm of my hand and with the new medicines I am on after the heart surgery, it formed a very large hematoma that required it to be drained from all the under lying blood. Your contusion concerns me! Even with all your injuries, you remain so chipper... you are one tough woman! Love your saying... "Hell is up!" ... and you never give up! Daniel

Yeah unfortunately it’s a bone bruise and they can be difficult to heal. I still have a fist size hematoma on the leg. Heading to trail days for the weekend and taking it day by day. In 30 years of hiking, these are my first injuries but my experience on the AT thus far has outweighed my hopes so I really do feel I’ve had an amazing adventure. Whatever happens, I’m really enjoying the ride. I tend to be pretty laid back and go with the flow. Thanks for sharing your experience and all of your support!🙏

Hopefully by now you’ve rested,iced,elevated and improved. If you’re still having problems when you pass through Roanoke, my friend’s hubby is an ER Dr. He’ll sort you out. Happy Mother’s Day!😊❤

I hope you feel absolutely no pressure at all to do this thru hike exactly as originally planned. If you have to take time off to heal your leg, so be it. Sometimes the act of v-logging itself puts an indirect form of pressure to carry on. All of us who follow this channel want you to know we root for you no matter what and whatever you decide is best for you. You are a star and an amazingly resilient person and hiker. Please take a collective big hug from all of us.

Thank you for this! Everyone has been so supportive and I know that I will probably have to do a flip flop at some point when I can get back on trail if I want to stay with my people. Fingers crossed and thank you again!!🙏

I think you need to rest and try to recover from that injury, your tramily will probably leave you behind but that’s ok, anyway you were supposed to do this hike alone, finding a tramily was just a plus, but you signed up for it alone so you can do it on your own and you could even find a different tramily down the road who knows 🤷♀️ but your recovery is the most important part right now. Hope you feel better soon. Sending love ❤

Thank you so much 🙏 I’m not worried about being alone. I make friends easily. That seems to be a big concern for people watching the videos.

Be careful!!! My brother had one of those and it got infected (internally). What a nightmare, at one point there was the possibility of losing part of his leg…
@TiggerTellsTales6 ай бұрын
Yes they can weaken the bone making it prone to fracture and infection. I’m resting it but hopeful I can get back on trail. So sorry that happened to your brother. It’s incredibly painful 😓

Unfortunately it looks like you need to take some time to let that heal. Maybe with some rest days you could continue on without pain. I hope you have a Happy Mother’s Day.

Thank you so much! Yes, it’s not uncommon for people to have to leave trail for a couple of weeks to heal. Fingers crossed that the leg cooperates 🤞 and I can get back sooner than later. I very much appreciate your support 🙏
