Spent a year in the computer room in that building - amazing to see the destruction it has now, probably some of my work is in that pile - ADP lol - DS lair is where we controlled it all, I actually wrote that under the picture on the door @11:31 - and the helium atom with three input arrows and one out. Sadly, they retired the Data Systems rate soon after I left in 1995.

You mean "very government" because budget failures is a universal government doctrine lol. That said, the Soviets tried to compete with a Cold War adversary that had double the economic size and tripled its military budget from 1975-85. What could possibly go wrong? The Soviet Union was existing on borrowed time years before Buran took her one and only flight.

@chrisluckhardtАй бұрын
I didn't meet a single person who wished they lived on the mainland - everyone out there on Adak loves it. Many of them were former residents and military personnel who wanted to return. What do they do? Some of them host visiting hunters, fishermen, and bird watchers. Other residents work in the small airport, only bar/restaurant, or local government (e.g., council, infrastructure). The rest enjoy the solitude and freedom it provides.
