The furnishings in the church's nave are gorgeous!

Around the high altar too!

The pews must be original. A little refurbishing and they would look spectacular again! Everything was well protected by a good caretaker. I’m guessing a descendant is checking on the church semi-frequently. Perhaps even the ministry.

Have you no fear, friend?? What are those deep sounds on 6:00 and engine noises on 8:20? T_T

I want to say ghosts! 👻But it's just a group of offended birds nesting on a dome ledge. They weren't happy that I was infiltrating their home!

This would be a neat home.

I grew up near a rural church that was converted into a home. I saw a real estate listing recently and the photos made it look incredibly cozy. The possibilities for what to do with this space seem endless!

What a nice church do you think they might fix this place up

Unfortunately, there isn’t much use for a building with such specific architecture. And it’s in a remote area - the closest city is an hour away. Hopefully someone with extra money might buy it and convert it into a home?

The paintings were really beautiful. I love how much detail was on the trim.

Yes! Even poor immigrant farmers wanted a nice place of worship. Originally, these immigrants worshipped in a basic log building. They built this church themselves just after 1905 and located simple but still ornate furnishings and details. Quite an achievement for a remote location!

Beautiful structure. Lots of history. Glad you have captured it while you did. Nice to record this moment in history of the place because we never know what state it will be in 10 years from now.

Thank you, Christy! Hopefully the church will still be standing in 10 years, and maybe saved or renovated for a different use.
