I grow Cassava in my back yard. I stumbled across this video and decided to give it a try. Sorry, but I didn't like it. It tasted okay but the texture was gross. Must be an acquired taste. I had never heard of Macapuno. Fascinating to learn about it but that's what I think ruined the texture for me. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I'm still glad to have tried something new.

I've been looking for this recipe for soo long. Why doesn't this dish come up when you search torta? It's like 20 other types of torta but not this one.
@lescap12092 ай бұрын
Because torta is kapampangan.

There are 5 types of Lumpia in the Philippines 1.Lumpiang Shanghai / Deeping sauce: seasoned vinegar or chili ketsup 2.Lumpiang Prito or Fried vegie lumpia / Deeping sauce: seasoned vinegar 3.Lumpiang Sariwa (Fresh Lumpia) or Non fried vegie Lumpia / Deeping sauce: Brown sugar sauce with fresh crashed garlic sprinkled with crashed peanuts. 4.Lumpiang Hubad (Naked Lumpia) It's a Vegie Lumpia fillings without wrapper / Same sauce on Fresh Lumpia. 5. Lumpiang Ubon........

Sugar is a usual ingredient across many versions of Adobo but I agree on your criticism of oregano.

fridge the mix before wrapping ..... you need a playdoe texture,, it will blend all the spices and flavor and it will be easier to make stiff wraps..

This is the most un-Filipino way of making lumpia. Also, such sad thin pieces as a result? Nope.
@sean.louise8 ай бұрын
Lumpiang shanghai is meant to be an appetizer; it’s not supposed to be a filling meal like lumpiang gulay.
@obione702224 күн бұрын
@@sean.louisewell I like fat and thin lumpia. It depends if I’m hungry I love the fat but if for appetizer like the thin but must be full !

Hey thanks there’s a restaurant near my in Oakland, CA that sells this which is where I got the idea to make it. I’m so glad I found this recipe. I followed it except for substituting a few ingredients. The only thing I didn’t care for was mixing the egg in. The restaurant puts a fried egg on top instead which I think I’d probably do as well from now on. Otherwise I love this dish thanks 😊

Thank you I've tasted this years ago and have been trying to find out what it's called or how it was made ever since. I honestly thought the chunks of cassava was jelly coconut. I love this so much

I think you guys make great videos! Just one request though. This isn’t shade, it’s from the heart, from one Fil-Am to another. I wish you guys would say the Filipino food and words with correct pronunciation. For example, “kutsinta” and “talagang” in this video. It’s that one little extra step ✊🏼 Anyway, killin’ it, thanks for making quarantine better with your recipes 😎
