My mixer does not look like this at all, and even though I followed the steps all the way up to loading an instrument, I can't get it to work. Nothing happens. Are you using some plugin for the mixer that allows this? Also, what was the key command for creating the doofer? :D

I was just recording notes into the pattern. There were no samples involved at that timestamp. Hit escape to enable recording, then input note by holding down the proper key on the keyboard. Z in this case. The key repeat on the keyboard fills notes quickly. Hope this helps

I'm a bit confused though, why don't your multisamples peak? I have to turn down the volume of the samples or they add together and become real loud. I did look at the top of your screen, and despite your rather demure colorscheme, I think you did not have the 'auto limiter' button on.

Thanks for the shoutout MrZensphere. The track is sounding dope! Love how you’ve taken that technique in a completely new direction. Renoise is such a creative DAW, I love seeing what people come up with. That ‘paste sample selection tool’ would also be dope for editing the resampled audio for the slider technique. I’m going to give it a go in a sec. So cool you’re on the Renoise team also! I’m not going to burden you with feature requests but I would be over the moon if they would add a tab to transient feature in the editor! 🚀🌙😊

You are awesome for making these. Thank you. You know, I was in a tough spot and sold all my gear because I needed the money. So I went with Renoise. It's insane how much this piece of software can do and it's so cheap. You can find samples, or just rip them from CDs and you have an ocean of possibilities. Channel like yours is such a breath of fresh air, while I was browsing the KZbin it seems the majority of musicians are just salesmen or something "buy this synth, buy this plug in, $300 here, $200 there, a monthly subscription somewhere else. I have nothing against gear, I love it. But electronic music started because people were buying old cheap synthesizers and samplers and getting really creative with it and now with Renoise it's the same vibe. I also really like your music, I don't listen to much psytrance as I used to. Mostly listen Psy Chill because I don't go to events anymore. But I really like that slow style that you have on Soundcloud, the dark prog, swamp trance. Those sound so good. You want to put them up for sale on Bandcamp?

thanks! glad if you enjoy the music. yeah, i've got a ridiculous backlog of music in dire need of release. seems like my priorities always go towards writing new music and doing sound design experiments, so I should buckle down and get some more music out there. Thanks for the encouragement :) And yes, renoise is definitely punk rock/DIY in its own way. I really enjoy pushing its limits. There's so much it can do and so many different ways of working with it. Good stuff Cheers

For sure! I bet you'll get some good mileage out of these techniques. You can do a lot more with the first technique when you start experimenting with the modulation set... I also like to resample, chop sample, render slices to phrase, then fux wit the modulation and fx. can create some really cool morphing fx and transitions with this method

Can you explain how the Synplant transposes pitch please for A_freq and b_freq? The default value for a_freq is 0.5 and b_freq is 0.6875, so how many semitones is 0.6? I know in percentage since 0.5 to 1, 0.6 is 20% of change from the note you press on your keyboard, but how would that convert to hertz? It’s crucial we know the semitones, I would love to have your help ASAP

BUT... Can you convert voice into instruments, but not 1 note, for example If I sing a 1 minute melody, then may I convert that entire melody into a 1 minute music song played by the chosen instrument or sound developed with Symplant 2 (voice to instruments), not just getting a 1 note sample from it? and how ❓

The confusion about the panning/volume slider in the DSP chain not matching behavior in the Mixer pane is because by default the panning on the Mixer view is Post processing and the device you see in the DSP pane is for pre processing on the track. On the right side there is a button to change it and then the sliders move simultaneously

Just assign them to macros in the modulation section (or fx section if you want a separate filter sweep) and use the instrument macros device on the track. In the automation section of pattern matrix and sequencer use the assigned macros to write automation
