did you ever notice that there isn't ONE memorable Family Guy quote? now think about how many amazing quotes there are in South Park, Simpsons, and King of the Hill. you can sit there with other fans and rattle off hilarious quotes for like, two hours nonstop. SP, Simpsons, and King of the Hill share a commonality: they all did something totally different. Family Guy only did one thing: take advantage of other animated shows' success and try to steal that thunder for itself. FG never did one original or groundbreaking thing. it wasn't funny at all. it was just awkward and cringe.

It is much much closer in feel and tone to the novel. Ridley’s deadly pragmatism and awkward distance comes through well, although this version plays down slightly his craft of becoming someone else. The B&W cinematography is gorgeous and effective. It does trade the color which is really intrinsic to actually being in Italy for its stark contrasts, effective framing, and period feel. A stylistic trade and effective.

While "May thy knife chip and shatter" sounds respectful, it is not. Literally wishing for your enemy to fail and die which is how Feyd interpreted and repeated in a mocking tone.

I think there is alot to be said for how well South Park has evolved over time whereas Family Guy has been a one trick pony its entire run. SPs first couple seasons were light years different from the polished show we are used to now.

When Sean snaps and puts hands on Will, you can tell that he’s caught off guard. He thought Sean was another intellectual who would break down, instead he found out that Sean was like him, a kid from Southie.

When Succession came out I thought it might open peoples eyes about how it is possible that rich powerfull people can actually be inept. Roman and Kendall would not be able to hold a job in any company in any role. But then what most people got from the show was quiet luxury.

This show helped me a lot :D I used to be a Jessie to my manipulative boss. He was a mastermind. Everyone loved him. But i saw through him... cause you know... i was with him most of the time, observing, learning. I once saw him deal with an employee who came to negotiate a raise. The dude by the end accepted a lower salary, thanked for it, and left smiling, only two weeks later to realize what just happened. Basically, no matter what scummy thing he did, he was always the victim. It was never his fault. Always someones elses.

👎👎👎 His performance was uneven and cartoonish at worst, and, similar to the movie as a whole, bore spotty and scattered incidence of promising elements, but failed to deliver on any of them. Dune still has yet to be made.

I can only compare the two movies, the first one starring Alain Delon (same story) called "Purple Noon" ("Plein Soleil" in French) and the famous one starring Jude Law and Matt Damon. They have many points of intersection (being both of them the very same story) and yet they couldn't be more different. Some characters brought to life in The Talented Mr. Ripley simply can't be found in Purple Noon. But what really makes Purple Noon's atmosphere unique is the presence of Delon, the whole nostalgia of French Nouvelle Vague (it is more of a tribute to the Nouvelle Vague) and the shocking final scene, much better than the open epilogue of The Talented Mr. Ripley, in my humble opinion.

I've watched a lot of both in my 28 years of life. They are both hilarious, but South Park wins hands down. I would even go as far as to say that American Dad is better than Family guy.

I love Family Guy but it IS NOT the kind of show you watch when you want a story or character-based moments. I like it because you never know what is gonna happen next, and the writers aren’t afraid to throw in jokes that very few people will find funny. It’s kinda like a less intense version of Smiling Friends in a way.

1980's were perhaps the worst, but were at the same time the most memorable decade. The bad movies in 1980's were still way better than modern bad movies.

@V3ntilator
@V3ntilator 19 сағат бұрын
@@MethSloth Yes, but the budgets weren't big back then either and actors didn't get huge salaries. Low budget movies in 1980's usually cost only 1-2 millions, so it weren't a gamble as they earned the money back on VHS rentals. There were 100's of terrible obscure unknown movies in 1980's which were worse than B-Movies and usually had only unknown bad actors.

soo let me get this straight. random gags in between a dual plot story is considered "not working hard enough," but creating a dual plot storyline while inserting poorly interpreted celebrities and taking cheap shots at them is okay? come on. its comedy folks. lets all just have a laugh.

Do you really expect South Park to interpret celebrities as realistic and well-interpreted? The show's point is to make fun of people as a satirical joke. What did you expect? Like actually what did you expect?

What is more important? A fruit whose skin is edible or is higher in vitamin C? Sure apples don’t contain as much vitamin C as an orange but you’re not gonna be very happy eating an orange peel. However, an orange does have less fiber than an apple. But what do you think? Which is more important to the enjoyment of eating fruit? Which is better an apple or an orange?
