This video essay analyzes South Park's Randy Marsh's behaviour throughout the series. Randy Marsh is an overly competitive father with dreams of making it big which causes him to dominate storylines and push himself into view. Randy fears that his time is running out so he gets more and more desperate to feel better about himself and self-medicates with hedonistic consumption to off-set his existential anxiety. South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have created a perfect all American character that mirrors our own insecurities and behaviours.
