Not sure that Within Temptation deserved to be on the list. They did 3 maybe 4 Symphonic Metal Albums in their early days. They have been a Pop Metal band for over 15 years. Nothing wrong with that but it doesn’t fit the criteria.

I do assume that the only reason why Dissection is not mentioned inside the list is because of Jon Nödtveidt's history, right? Because based on the music they made, I guess I would put them even above Opeth, and I truely love Opeth.

I think Bathory deserves the top spot. Quorthon was a real music magician. He was the father of the scandinavian blackmetal scene. I never was a real fan of his voice, I think Bathory's impact to the world wide metal scene would have been by far higher, when the world class composer Quorthon, would have been worked with a world class singer.

Possessed influenced the death metal scene but not a death metal band in my view

Fairly accurate list which i mostly agree with. However, i would have included Hed Pe. They are totally underrated and the album Broke is solid. Also i think Anthrax deserve a mention. I know they aren't Nu Metal but they were one of the first bands to mix metal with rap.
