I'm at OLS now for Pentecost organ and choir concert by St John Cantius. The choir does Renaissance polyphony, the organist Dr Cavall is Italian. I remember coming across this video a few years back. Amazing.

True Catholic doctrine needs to brought back first. The Modernist revolution has thrown most of it out.

The "Benedictus" should be sung after the Elevation of the Chalice. It "was originally an acclamation addressed to the celebrant (or Emperor) and only later became a hymn to Christ.." In a 1934 Catholic book, page 66: " 141. Is it permitted to sing the Benedictus before the Elevation? No, this is forbidden. (D. 2682, 31; 3827, 3; 4242, 6.) A hymn was sung after the Elevation and that was really good and proper. Benedictus and a hymn is to praise and honor Our Lord after Elevation. A hymn during Communion is not the tradition of 2000 yrs., only Communion proper should be sung during the Communion of the faithful and maybe followed by organ music. This is from the Motu Proprio of Pope Pius X: "..However, it is permissible, according to the custom of the Roman Catholic, to sing a motet to the Blessed Sacrament after the Benedictus.." The genuflection before and after Communion of the faithful which was done here by the seminarians was also a long time custom or rubric. It is not only for clergy/seminarians but should be done by all the faithful receiving Communion. The bishops around year 1899, instructed the faithful not to genuflect upon leaving and entering the pew when receiving Communion, but the genuflection should be done before the Communion rail, before and after Communion. Put these traditions back to please our Almighty God!! AMDG!

Redemptorits are not monks. They are the opposite of monks-Missionaries🤷♂️ Very confused people
@bobskanal2 ай бұрын
Yes, but this is a new order, with new objectives. After Vat. II. and the reforms in the congregation a group split, who really liked the contemplative aspects of the order, that where now gone. So they made a new order and put the contemplative aspects in the center. Now they aren't missionaries, but monks. I don't know much about them, but I would guess, that while the Redemptorists are on mission like St. Alfons, the transalpine monks are praying like St. Alfons.

If a 1960 Catholic were to be suddenly deposited into the current Catholic Mass, he would quickly run out, thinking he was at a protestant service. People dress like slobs now, which shows their level of respect.

Thank you so much for passing this beautiful video to us. Bishop Fulton Sheen, ora pro nobis... Deo Gratias. Thank you for the TLM. I kept thinking while watching this, why do people prefer "Table of Plenty" "One Eagle's Wings" and "One Bread One Body" over this? The TLM saved me from hell...
