i'm doing a cosplay with multiple sets of wings, do you think that one larger and two smaller sets would still stay on with velcro? :o
@semeКүн бұрын
I think you'd need to attach them all separately and with LOT of velcro to use this technique for them. Today I would stick to different techniques though! You could use a simple plug-in system with pipes or something like that e.g.! :)
@cielphantomhive44212 ай бұрын
What fabric did you use for the bodysuit and black strips?
@semeКүн бұрын
The stripes are fauxleather, the fabric is a simple elastic one
@holbrook93mh2 ай бұрын
What would you use to colour these wings, I need to make a yellow pair ?
@semeКүн бұрын
These days I'd use airbrush paint to have a flexible colourcoat! Back then I used graffiti spray! Works also great, but you have a risk of it cracking at some point!
@laurabarak90842 ай бұрын
Does the pattern come with the black pieces or do I need to make those pattern pieces myself?
@semeКүн бұрын
I'm not exactly sure, it should be written in the describtion in the shop though! Write the shop support otherwise please! :)

Where did you get your fabric? I've been looking for a shade like that.
@seme2 ай бұрын
I looked FOREVER for this fabric and found it by accident in a fabric shop. I think next time I'm just going to dye one! Maybe that's an option for you, too?
@idiaowo70064 ай бұрын
Does anyone know what she uses, just fabric?
@seme2 ай бұрын
That's no fabric! It's a packing plastic material, like bubblefoil for security of items when shipped, but without bubbles! Don't know the exact name tho unfortunately
@AmberNBrown-qk8ly4 ай бұрын
What did you use to add color like in the thumbnail?
@seme4 ай бұрын
That's was spray paint! The absolute best paint for this would be airbrush paints since they're opaque and flexible.
@AmberNBrown-qk8ly4 ай бұрын
@@seme I'll definitely keep that in mind when I make my next set. Just finished a pair for a convention and I used acrylic based spraypaint which is great for going over foam because it's not harsh like oil based, but it's not very flexible. Any movement makes it crack and its kinda flaky.

For which part exactly? The armor parts are made out of foam though, then some foam parts like the shoulder pads covered with pleather.

@seme5 ай бұрын
Hey! It's normally a PVC plastic pipe, heated and then formed when HEATED up. After cooling down it's hard and sturdy again. :) (In the video I used a combination pipe with aluminium core which works without heat but I'd recommend PVC pipes instead)

Is it possible to spray paint the foam? Or do you need to paint it by hand?
@seme Жыл бұрын
The foam in the video is spray painted! But you need to use not-too-toxic paint for it, I used graffiti spray paint and nowadays I'd use airbrush colours.

Hello! I was planning on doing this for my school's capstone project and I wanted to know, how long did this take to make in total? Also how easy would you say this cosplay is for beginners, and would you say this is cost-friendly? Any answers would be appreciated. Thank you!
@seme Жыл бұрын
Some beginners made this already with our patterns and instructions (link in bio), so yes, it's definitely possible! It takes an experienced crafter around 3-4 full working days, a beginner should plan around a week maybe? You need all materials and some tools though, without them it's harder to make (the tools you see in the video). Costs differ.

Love the video. Love the wings. I was actually looking up different wings for a CARNAVAL Costume. Did u use a PVC Pipe & a heating gun to mold the shape? Never thought about foam, but good deal. (Never really thought about it but can it be painted- I’m sure I could prob ModgePodge 1st then paint) just tossing ideas! Love video
@seme Жыл бұрын
Yes, it's a PVC Pipe which was heatshaped. :) And the material is in the describtion, it's meant to wrap things for safe shipping originally. And can be painted! Primer would be too heavy for this build here though.

Hello! I recently purchased your pattern and cannot find these aluminum tubes for the base and I was wondering where you purchased them and the more technical term for them? I looked up aluminum PVC pipes or bendable pvc and got nowhere lmao
@seme2 жыл бұрын
Hi! Actually I didn't know it at that time but the best solution are actual regular PVC pipes. You can shape them carefully when heated-up (wear a respiratory mask) and when they cool down they will harden again and stay in shape! :)
