@@carandtruckremotes thanks! It appears this car i just got a 2000 Corolla ce isn't capable or I guess compatible with a unlock lock key fob. I got it because the seller said the only 1 of the keys is good for the ignition this bad one use for doors so to save key life I was hoping the fob would work but I don't think this vehicle features it

Can't get this to work on my 2003 honda element EX. Have tried many times with no response of the locks at all. My car is a manual, not sure that has any impact. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jeff, Do you have power door locks on the car? Have you ever had a remote on the car before? There is a possibility that the original owner changed the remote receiver on the vehicle or that you have the wrong remote for the car as well. Try to match the following by calling the dealer with your VIN to be sure the remote you have is compatible: Honda Part Number: 72147-S5T-A01, 72147S5TA01 FCC ID: OUCG8D-344H-A, OUCG8D344HA Frequency: 314 MHz

You have to do both back to back during the same procedure. Once you hold Lock/Unlock on the first remote and it connects, put that one down and pick up the other one and press and hold lock/unlock on the second one Before taking the key out of the ignition. Do not start over at the beginning between each remote. I hope this helps. :)

These programming instructions will not work for smart key fobs or proxy keys. If you have a separate remote start key fob or remote, you most likely have a separate receiver for that on your vehicle and that would require programming with a locksmith.

NOTE: This only works for Keyless entry system function, You can't run the engine, just cranking only.. In my case the MASTER KEY is gone, so cloning/ register the Transponder inside the new replacement key fob won't work. You still need the MASTER KEY first for you to be able cloning the transponder and make your engine run not just for remote keyless entry.

Correct. This programming is not for the chip in the key, only for the remote to function.

I tried this about 10 times on my 2008 RAV4 base, and I cant get it to enter the programming mode to add a key. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Have you ever had a remote on the car before? Some base models do not have the receiver for the remote. These instructions are only for the remote. They will not program the chip in the key to start the car. That has to be done by a locksmith.

@@carandtruckremotes I am working with the original key fob that used to work with the car. I replaced the battery in the fob, and it hasnt worked since. The red LED lights up when I press any button, and the battery tests good. The fob only has the lock/unlock/panic buttons and it used to work. I cant seem to get the car to enter programming mode..

@@FishinYakker try rebooting the receiver by unplugging one of the car battery cables for about 20-30 mins and then try to get the car into programming mode again. You may just have a bug in the system keeping it from engaging and this may do the trick.

Ok so I did this and they new key fobs unlock and lock but won’t turn the car on 🙁 how do I program it so it turns the car on as well?

The chip in the key must be professionally programmed by a locksmith. These instructions will only program the remote portion of the unit.

If they are one unit, you will need to have the key portion cut and programmed to start the car by a local locksmith. These instructions are only for the remote portion of the key. The chip in the key must be professionally programmed in order to use the key to start the car.

If you have the flip type key, the chip in the key will require separate programming by a locksmith in order to start the car with the key. If you are trying to program more than one remote to the vehicle, you need to do both back to back during the same procedure (do not start over at the beginning each time). I would call the dealer with your VIN to obtain the correct part number. There are several different receivers and remotes that can be on the Tundras. All Toyota installed, but some are dealer installed and others factory installed. Once you have the correct part number, you can match it to what you have ordered and make sure it is the correct remote.

Tried this for my 2006 Civic remote and it didn't work. Tried programming with both the lock and unlock buttons. Any ideas?

Have you had a remote on the car before? Some Honda remotes look the same, are you sure you have the correct remote? If so, you can try to reboot the receiver by disconnecting one of the car battery cables for about 20-30 mins and then reconnect and try the programming again. You can also swing by an auto parts store to test the remote signal to be sure it is working properly. I hope this helps. :)

(not either or) Turn key on, press lock, turn key off, turn key on, press lock, turn key off, turn key on, press lock, turn key off, 4th time... turn key on, press lock LOCK (twice quickly) and then turn the key off. Exit the vehicle to test the fob. Try not to lag between steps. If you make a mistake, start the car, turn off they ignition, open and close the door and start fresh. I hope this will help!

@@carandtruckremotes I just got the car a couple days ago. The seller said the remote worked, but he lost the round battery cover on the back side and never replaced it. This is a separate HONDA remote, not attached to the key like the newer ones. I went to Honda yesterday, and they gave me a new cover and a battery. This is the older style remote, with Lock/Unlock/Panic buttons. I can try and disconnect the battery and see if that makes a difference, thanks!

@@sbrave I've seen these older Honda systems be a little picky. I hope the reboot will help. Sometimes it is all about timing on these.... too fast or too slow and the system does not like it. I hope you can get it working.

2003 Tacoma . thank you for the step by step. I think they sold me the wrong transponder because once I hit the step where I have to press on both lock& unlock then lock, nothing happens. I tried rewrite mode since "add" didn't seem to work. I also programmed my F150 key fob and those work fine. So im going to remove the battery for 5 to 10 minutes to see if that resets anything.

The second time you switched the ignition are you saying press unlock OR LOCK? Please speak slower so it’s easier to understand you. I’ll wait for a reply before I send them back to you for refund.

I admit, I'm sometimes skeptical. This video seemed too easy. I bought 2 fobs off Amazon, watched the video, then took the laptop with me and sat in the vehicle and had them both programmed in less than 10 minutes. Nice job on video. Clear and concise. Thanks!!!!

I got two toyota keys similar to rav4 2010 key, although the rav went into programming mode but the key failed to work. The key has 4 buttons instead of 3, it was maybe on a camry. Any ideas.

How about a Mazda 5 2012 that has only a metal key with a black plastic base ... no buttons. Opens doors and goes into ignition but will not turn. When I put a paper clip into a tiny hole, a piece comes out the base. It has a small black cube in it. I think she lost the actual fob with buttons. Thanks for ANY advice. She is a homeless lady, 63, living in her van.

For some reason by fob stopped working on my 2007 rav 4. The red light however was still showing on the fob when pressing a button. Reprogramming fixed it, thanks a lot!
