Nice one Andrew. Looks perfect for a motorcycle camping food preparation knife 👍 Love me some Alox

Nice review of a very nice knife. We use the Swiss Army 1Alox as our go to knives when we are camping, perfect for food prep and for using as cutlery too. Although I do also carry a Pioneer X Alox for most other tasks. (Oh and the classic SD on my car keys) between them, they can manage almost any everyday task whether at home, at work or camping.

@@IvanDP1967 the Alox range are real quality, I’ve got the Pioneer and will get the X or Farmer X next.. actually, I’ve also got the Classic SD Alox as well but not reviewed that yet.. love the feel of the Alox range 👍🏻

@@thecampingbiker791 I did think about the Classic SD Alox, but didn't want to lose the tweezers and toothpick., so I picked up a set of titanium scales from AliExpress. Almost as expensive as the standard classic, but to me worth every penny.

A hardware shop in my high street has a great selection, bit pricey though in there . I would like normally to buy local .. I have had my trusty camping model for about 30 years but am in the market for something similar to your review.
@thecampingbiker7912 ай бұрын
@@johnakyle5908 there’s so much choice, have you seen some of the other reviews on the playlist and more to come! There’s a little hardware shop near me in Chorley, Lancs and it’s the same there!

i can see a good purpose for this knife in the way you suggest, and like the thicker blades, but i would prefer to see a keyring on it, as it takes up so little space as it could be useful to attach a pocket clip rather than have to dig for it in a pocket or backpack, but anyway it is what is is. I Thought i'd let u know that ive decided on the model i want for my upcoming birthday, and that's the swiss champ. I'm not a great carrier of many things so it wouldnt be an EDC as such for daily carry, but everytime the missus want's a 'little job' doing i need to make a trip to the shed or my office to find the right tool, so it will live on the table by my chair in the living room along with my midnight manager, and the swiss champ albeit a tad bulky has all the things i think i need and then some. one of the kids can also get me a leather pouch to keep it in , and the other a nite ize hip clip in case i do have a reason to take it along anywhere. @@Bob-ts2tu yes, can understand the key ring thing, but strange but I’ve packed it in my camp cook pack so not a real issue for my use.. so, you’re going full on with your birthday choice… very nice and everything you would need for most tasks.. mentioning the wife, it’s so funny mine thought it was just a passing phase and couldn’t see the point of a SAK but guess who keeps asking me to do different little jobs for her 😂

The Alox Swiss Army 7/ Harvester seems better as a camp knife and has the pruner blade
@thecampingbiker791Ай бұрын
@@MrPsiman my thoughts on this one was for simple cook/food prep knife, separate from overall camp knife but the Swiss Army 7 would be a great overall camp knife… the pruner blade is excellent when preparing food.
