Cattails are edible. Iris are not. They're toxic to humans.

as someone trying to grow this as animal feed, nuking your lake or pond with chemicals sounds retarded. you obvious shouldn't listen to this idiot and fix the actual problem with your land. the lack of animals on it. there are fish that eat this stuff if you want to go the easy/lazy route. but if you can collect it and feed it to poultry and other livestock and turn it into ultra healthy meat you can feed to your family.... instead of pouring chemicals on your land and tainting your water...

Grass carp and koi carp will deal with this in no time and will keep on top of it. No nasty poisonous chemicals need be applied to the water system and you'll have beautiful fish too.

Technically, this is false. Only talapia are successful at controlling watermeal. But often not the best choice as they do not survive well below 60 degree F.

Grass carp can not control watermeal. Tilapia can help, but they will die every year when it gets cold.

Now should it work in all lakes because I remember going to one full of blue gill. I threw some bread out and it worked perfectly but when I threw the fish chow out they just looked at it and one popped at it and spitted it out so idk what's wrong??

Yes. It is much easier to feed fish food to fish from the hatchery that have been already trained. But with some frequency they will find fish food to have more nutrients and an easier food source.

Sorry to hear that it was not what you were looking for on You Tube. However, in the dialogue we clearly explain why the fountain was removed from the Bank of America pond. Because the pond is so shallow they used a irrigation pump plumbed with pvc to create a fountain. The intake of this fountain would clog in less than 12 hrs. making the system too high of maintenance. We would highly recommend using a bottom diffusor aeration system instead of a floating fountain, like a Vertex Aeration system. It more efficient and much less pond maintenance.

Nice video but you should include "fountain" in the title when there is no fountain in operation. It's a bit miss-leading.
