Bro you can literally see my hands and body using the laptop at multiple points in the video, like in the Final Thoughts chapter. It’s the same desk setups in all my videos too, like how did you even come to this conclusion??

Sorry, but very hard to believe. I also find your video unnecessarily long. The same footage is looping, and the same discussion points are repeated over and over again! The entire review could've been wrapped up in just 5~10 minutes maximum. You might not want to show your face with the laptop (understandably), but unfortunately, you have to (with the device) at some point! I know I sound very negative, but I'm disgusted to have wasted 15 minutes on your video without getting any valuable information.

@@masterela I don’t know what to tell you, clearly people find this informative to have lots of data points and thorough explanations instead of just reading off specs and running a couple benchmarks like other reviewers. If you want a high-level overview, then look at any other review. If you want in-depth comparisons and footage of laptops across multiple different power profiles and setups, then that’s what I strive for. I investigate every detail of the laptop and report my findings. I can send you my nearly 1TB of raw video files for each clip in this video if that helps “prove” anything, lmao 🤣

Yeah, I have a little comparison to it at the end in Final Thoughts there, it just doesn’t strike me as a great competitor when the G16 already exists. Except for the upgradeable RAM. But everything else about it is just… fine. It’s not a bad laptop by any means, it’s just bigger/heavier, has a power-hungry CPU that barely performs better than the G16’s, eats battery, discharges battery while gaming, has fewer tuning options, worse display, worse speakers. Again not a bad laptop, but it’s typically the same price as the G16 in the U.S., so it kinda lost my interest. If I got it on a good deal then I may review it though

I just got the base model with the ultra 7 and 4060 (admittedly it's got a third fan instead of vapour chamber that the 4080 and 4090 versionshave ) a couple days ago and its heat dissipation is pretty bad. I don't have it running max power in games because it just overheats like crazy or the fans get super loud for my liking. limited the CPU to like 45 watts and disabled the 4060 when on battery
@JoshCravesTech
@JoshCravesTech 15 сағат бұрын
The heat dissipation is quite normal unless you have a defective unit. Have you owned a gaming laptop before? Genuine question. I've talked to many 4060/4070 owners and it doesn't overheat unless there's a defect. Also you can limit the CPU lower than that if you want, even when gaming. 15-20W is even fine for still having good performance with less heat/noise.

It's okay, you don't need to know any of the technical stuff. This is a very good laptop that will give you great "out of the box" performance and battery life. All I recommend after buying it is just to watch my G-Helper video if you want to customize your experience. If you'd rather not have to learn software and stuff like that, then all you really need to do for a balanced experience is open Armoury Crate, set GPU to "Optimized", and use the fan key on the keyboard to switch between Silent, Balanced, and Turbo depending on what you're doing.

Great review. I personally still prefer a thicker laptop and have possibility to use full 175W power of 4090 when needed (125 vs 175W in 4090 is huge performance loss) and use "silent" mode to play with about same performance as this G16 but with A LOT less loud fans because of better cooling. This G16 does not give me this possibility but it's still great laptop. I hope we will see 3nm CPU and GPU in Windows laptops and have more performance/less loud fans in case like this G16. This laptop is first step to this world.

This one, lol. Just the best overall package for a 16” that I’ve seen in 2024. It’s the closest out there to having everything you’d want in a laptop. These 16 inches are just too big for me as a normally use a desktop and am looking for something that I can show off my products. I really wish easy way for users to use more CPU with watts. My game is CPU limited. But every laptop is made to max GPU power and limit CPU power. So hurts performance with me. I bought a 4090 legion 7 first. It was louder and so much bigger. They will never use Ghelper. Made by one person. As a software dev Asus is too proud to give him credit. So they would rather fuck others then help their customers and give credit where it is due. Is yours the mini-LED or the IPS panel? The mini-LED should look really good unless you have a defect or something! But yeah, what game are you talking about? These CPU’s are so efficient that I can’t imagine needing any more than what they use. The 7940HS for example is more powerful than many desktop CPU’s from the past few years while using less wattage. 20-35W in games is typically all you would need, maybe 40-50W if you’re CPU-bound. You can turn down your dynamic boost for your GPU sliders to the lowest they’ll go in G-Helper, and then raise the CPU to the highest it’ll go. You can also Undervolt the CPU for extra performance at no cost!

The SSD’s should not be overheating at all, no matter what you have hooked up. If they are truly overheating to the point of bad throttling then that may be a defect with the SSD. Also, I’m not sure what you mean with the ICC profiles. Out of the box, it only has one ICC profile installed called like “Razer” or “Blade” and it’s there in Synapse. You should never have to change this. In a color managed program like Lightroom for example, it should show accurate colors.

That’s a tough choice. I still daily drive the G14, but it’s not hard to recognize that the G16 is a more premium laptop. It has a bigger footprint and is a tiny bit heavier being 16”, but the performance is not very different, maybe 10-15% difference between the two as far as strictly GPU performance. The G16 is more “presentable” because it straight up looks like a MacBook. And it has a bit more battery life with the 90Wh battery and oled display. Just not quite as bright as the G14 mini-LED. Both are incredible though! Just didn’t make sense for me personally to move everything over to a new device when there’s no difference in performance.
