We've got a bunch of corporate capitalists crying about free markets, so they can go halfway around the planet to get in bed with socialists using slave labor. They won't pay Americans (or Canadians) to do the work because they can hire slaves instead, and then wonder why nobody has any money to buy their stuff. *Then* the Chinese run an extra shift in their factories to produce the same products they're making for the Americans, and come over here and compete against the people who hired them using their own parts. We've sold the futures of our countries to the Chinese so that a few rich people could make a bunch of cash while it lasted.

They sell kits to do that without welding 😂

Welding up the slots is the way I limited the advance back when I did a LOT of recurves. I welded up both sides of the slot and then used my Sun distributor machine to figure out which side of the slot to file to get the curve I wanted. I also cut the tips off both advance weights so they didn’t bottom out on each other. This also requires cutting the fat end of the weights to make them lighter. With this setup I needed fairly stiff springs which makes the weights unlikely to hang up which can happen with very light springs. You must have a distributor machine to get it right.
@EverythingHorsepowerАй бұрын
@@truthboomertruthbomber5125 I have a distributor machine but I seldom use it with the new timing lights I adjust spring pressure to get my advance to come in where I want it on the car

won't welding the wrong side affect phasing with all that initial timing?

Ran HEI for years on a 327, 400 hp +, never had that much of a problem. You probably have too big a cam in your dinky 305.Proper carburation and a good combination and tuning goes a long way. The only thing I would suggest for the HEI is a better module and coil for street . For racing get rid of the weights and vacuum advance and lock the shaft for whatever all in timing and use a start retard.
@EverythingHorsepower2 ай бұрын
@@havebenthere definitely welding an HEI solid fixes the mechanical advance problem and I actually haven’t driven the dinky 305 yet I’m basing the timing issues on hundreds of customer cars over the years coming in with similar problems and a wide variety of engine combos

It used to be that Chinese knockoff parts were just stuff cheap jokers would buy. But now with the cost of everything skyrocketing namely essentials more and more people are jumping for this junk because its all they can afford. This is hurting the car hobby bad. The American companies are spending massive amounts on r&d and abuse testing and once the product has been out 2 years junkmaster has a reverse engineered clone available for a third of the price. DO NOT BUY THIS CRAP.

Those intake ports are helical ports, designed to create swirl. The root word helix describes a spiral staircase, that gave me a better idea how to go about porting the helical ports in my 7.3 Powerstroke. Coast To Coast Diesel Enthusiasts is my KZbin channel, I’ve been working on the heads in my spare time but I’m pretty closes to the polishing stage. I’ve used a T bore gauge to help keep a consistency across all the ports, both intake runners and helical ports as well as the exhaust ports. I want to get custom valves and upgrade to better valve guides and seats because the factory heads have inducted valve seats and hardened valve guides. This video is definitely great to see someone else doing port work. 2 thumbs up!
