I prefer Don’s ad but Peggy had the better pitch, that’s why she won.

The truth is, when people build walls, it’s not usually because they want to shut people out necessarily. It’s to keep yourself away from others and hurting them somehow. Because you view yourself as so broken and unloveable, you don’t want people to waste effort on you.

The shame is that's not what his dad said, that's what he wishes he said. We have no clue if his dad felt that way.

I think his view is wrong on "every single person could go back if we could." He (the voice in Bojack's head) makes it sound negative that people want to go back and change things, but isn't it natural for people to want to improve?

I"ve been in agency meetings at this level as a CD and even in the 21st century, the people are still as big a douchebag as these clients. The only thing that's changed is the smoking (it's weed now not cigs) and the grab ass isn't right out in the open but alive and well behind closed doors.

You can see in Jerry's expression the focus he has in this composition. He's listening to every nuance and responding. These guys are geniuses. Only Miles could ever compare.

Even though this is all in Bojack's head, I think that if his dad was still alive, and capable, he would tell him something along these lines simply because Bojack IS his dad. He put up walls around the people he cared about and pushed them all away, destroying himself in the process. But he did care - he learned this behavior from his dad and never rose above it until the very end.
