Pefect, straightforward guide to reduce the risk of me braking something. I had 2x4gb in my son's laptop and just replaced one of those with a 16gb stick for a very low cost upgrade to make 20gb running at 3200. If it was my gaming desktop, then I'd put in 2x16gb to max dual channel performance, but for this laptop the 4gb+16gb is fine. Performance dramatically increased, Minecraft loads in the blink of an eye and according to the old Heaven benchmark on max settings... 8gb = score 668 & 26.5 fps vs 20gb = score 1092 & 43.4 fps.

I researched and found the the only thing I can do is to add 1 more ram stick so I upgraded to 2x8gb ram but now was I added 1 more stick of 8 gb ram 10.1gb of ram is hardware reserved and only 5.9gb is usable now too Pls tell me what to do How can I removed this reserved ram. tried removing the ram stick to check if the ram I order was faulty but it was alright
