Lmao, my current SO is married to someone else in FF14. But thats fine with me. I was married to my irl ex fiancee but I still have the in game ring, partly cause I'm lazy and forget and partly as a reminder of the pain. My personal policy now is that I'd only in game marry someone I share no romantic feelings with, which is almost impossible because everyone seems to attach feelings to it that I'm not willing to reciprocate

my first girlfriend now ex used the pc I bought her to play it takes two with some guy she met at an event she stayed at until 2 am far from home. I would always ask her if she wanted to play something and she would say no but planned to play games with him regularly. we had a messy break up and I find out a month or two later she’s already talking to someone new. it’s been about half a year and I’m still not fully over it, I just had a dream about her last night.

I payed to marry my friends boyfriend back then in maplestory so I could do the couples party quest. But he always did it with his friends instead so he couldn't do it with me. So I divorced him and he got pissed because I didn't tell him XD I feel like that was an overreaction by him since he didn't put anything to into it. He just lost access to the party quest that I payed to give him anyway XD

Ah, it has for my husband because he started playing a year after I started (me 2.2, him Heavensward) and I had already married my friends' character 😂 We had been married for 4 years at that point so it was a funny joke and he married his best friends' character as well. 10 years later, both irl and in game, still together. Very glad you got out of your toxic relationship, though! I'm so sorry that happened to you. Cheating's awful 😞

That's wild. Only reason I haven't married in XIV (even with my irl friends so they can get the rewards) is because I'm waiting for my irl fiance to reach the point where we can get married in-game (her job makes it so she can only play for an hour max so it's very slow). Even if it's just a game, the little silly things matter a whole lot
