That was the one thing that always bugged me about Crisis Core, they put Genesis in the Nibelheim scene and took Zangan out, even though Zangan was there in the original game and was the one who got Tifa to safety after.

Jumped back into Final Fantasy 14 recently happy to find a good handful of amazing youtubers and streamers who I enjoy watching play. But also...... idk anything about the other games, I played like the intro just getting off the train bit of 7 remake thing and I've played quite a bit of 15 but just have the most fun in 14 and the stories always seem too intense and over the top for me like im ngl I haven't watched any of the cutscenes in 14 and I'm nearing my first level 60 class/job. Was originally going Dancer but like I walked into Limsa and there was like an Orchestra playing so I'm debating switching to hyperfocusing Bard
