Has not the same Hand holding meaning like Cloud and Aerith does 2 times. The Koibito Tsunagi, also "Lovers Linking". One time on the optional date and in the final battle where its non optional. Koibito Tsunagi is more intimate then a kiss in the japanese culture.

No one on planet earth thinks holding hands is more intimate than kissing lol. Here this is from google “The Japanese expression for holding hands with fingers intertwined is koibito tsunagi, or "lovers tie". Isn't it romantic? However, it's not only lovers who can hold hands like that. Friends and relatives are often portrayed like that too. Has not the same meaning as when Cloud Interlocks willingly his fingers with Aerith. The significance of holding hands with fingers interlocking (not sure how accurate it is) but they state "two people intertwining their fingers while holding hands is called 恋人つなぎ (koibito tsunagi, “lover’s connection”) in Japanese culture." And not only does that happen on their date, it happens at the end of the final battle and is the trophy picture for completing said chapter.

Especially like they were dating in the last chapter. SE deliberately made it like this he seemed to have feelings for her because SE didn't want to lose clerith, because part3 tifa will appear more. The reason for kissing Tifa is because she will have many scenes in the future and their love will be deeper, so in order to connect to the future, they must show this .Haha SE They're really doing a balancing act.

She was contracted to sing a 5 minute song and do some promo videos. She said YT and Wikipedia were her sources. They aren't gonna reveal every detail of this game to her just to sing one song. 2) Aerith and Tifa's dates both show that before Aerith is writes the song, Tifa reveals to her that Cloud and Zack were friends. Now she knows she isn't crazy, there is a reason she has been reminded of Zack through Cloud. She gets this info from Tifa, writes that song, then proceeds to tell Cloud about how much everything about him reminds her of Zack, who he JUST remembered was his good friend that he thinks he saw die in Nibelheim five years ago. The song is about Cloud AND Zack, like nearly everything to do with Aerith's feelings for Cloud; tied up in her feelings for Zack. 3) You say she's over Zack but words and actions are two different things. Beyond what I just said in #2, the last thing she does w/ Cloud is take him on a dream date in Sector 5. Not only is it very similar to her first date w/ Zack, there's Zack-themed items at the vendors, Zack is constantly being shown, the date is all going wrong for Cloud and Aerith, he has no idea what 'our spot' means when Aerith says it, and all they do is hug in the end. No kiss, no confession (in fact Aerith isn't even sure if she likes him romantically), just a hug and a goodbye. So yeah I'm not convinced in the slightest she is over Zack and neither is she, clearly. Last point I'll make is the song is about Aerith's feelings, not Cloud's. CAs mistake this constantly. Even if it were just her feelings about Cloud, it doesn't matter. He never once acknowledges the song being about him, and if Tifa's on the stage when she's singing it, he instead thinks of and holds Tifa's hand, smiling as she sings it. Completely oblivious to the fact that Aerith in part wrote this song about him. So even if you said were true, it's a distinction without a difference. It's just further proof that CA is one-sided. Unrequited. Her lover's reunion will be w/ Zack. Hope that helps.

In the OG game in 97, prior to all the expanded lore, both were optional "love" interests in that stand alone game. You didn't even know if Cloud and Tifa survived in the end as Meteror came crashing down and we only saw the Lifestream come to Holy's aid, but never the conclusion. Only a hint that the gang on the Highwind survived with the flashforward with Red centuries later. You could easily think, if you favoured Aerith, that Cloud and Tifa died and that Cloud reunited with Aerith in the afterlife. Or you could chose to believe Cloud and Tifa survived and went on with their lives as a couple. It was a toss up back then. But as the expanded lore and the sequal movie Advent Children came out, the devs picked a path. And that path was Tifa and Cloud living together, with an adopted son and occasionally Marlene, while Barret is away for work (as Tifa sees herself as Marlenes mother anyways). Regardless of wheather you chose to believe that Cloud would have chosen to pursue Aerith had she lived, she didn't. He grieved, moved on and he and Tifa built house, two businesses and took in an orphan to raise. Only after Denzel and himself getting Geostigma did Clouds depression creep in and he abandoned his family and kept having visions of the people who died because of him (Zack and Aerith). Over the course of the film both Zack and Aeriths spirits guide him back to his family and the movie concludes with Cloud and Tifa locking eyes and smiling, after he reausred his son that he was back with them. Then he sees Zack and Aeriths spirits walking out of the church as Cloud looks at them and finally forgives himself for their deaths and lets go of his grief and guilt. That's it: Tifa is canon. Again be free to think he would have chosen Aerith had she lived, but it was already established that Cloud was in love with Tifa since he was a kid, he evidently never fell out of love with her, since he wouldn't live with her if he didn't. He knows she loves him, so that would just be cruel. And Cloud isn't cruel.

He spends the majority of disc 1 of the original game and Remake episode 1 neglecting Tifa except when she forces him to pay attention as he is overly focused on Aerith. In fact, he is reclusive around Tifa in the initial parts of the story until Aerith helps Cloud start to open up and then Cloud starts also opening up to both Tifa and Barrett due to this. They're making both relationships canon with alternate story line routes. The kiss scene is no deeper than the date scene with Aerith. One is more explicit while the other is moved beyond that point and is acceptance mixed with a bit of an obstacle causing a half awkward state until they get over that bump (aka Cloud's true self).

Each one their own. Personally, I have always thought Tifa and Cloud fit more together. Aerith feels very forced, only to create an impact when she dies.

What? Aerith wrote that love song for Cloud. O.o Its confirmed that this is a dong from her to Cloud, while Remakes Song Hollow is a Song from Cloud(Advent Children) to Aerith. Nomura and the song writer said that in the Interview. Zack has nothing to do with the song. It would make no sense. Same goes with Hollow. Hollow is about someone who died. Tifa never died. Its written about holding tight or embrace. Cloud would not do that to Zack. So its only Aerith. I dont understand why people thinks after the official confirmation, that Aeriths love song is about Zack. x__x

Sorry but Cloud and Aerith are cannon, the theme song in both Remake and Rebirth are about her and Cloud. Aerith's death pushes Cloud to beat Sephiroth . All FF7 games back to OG intro and end showing Aerith and giving her the last line. That being said , I love them both but Aerith is cannon 😘
