Looks like the wider your line the more you get airborne, because Hillier had the widest line amongst the racers shown and got a lot of air compared to the others.

I knew Dan, I am friends with all the Family and have been for a long time. That Friday I had just arrived on the Island, I picked up my usual van from the hire shop, then did some essential shopping and headed up towards Ramsey, the practice session was about to begin, so I decided to watch from Ballacry Road, I took a can of cider with me to the corner, there was a very young Marshal on his own with radio and flags, having always marshaled for a number of years I got chatting and said it seemed odd him being alone. Manx radio announced the first riders were away and I began the countdown in minutes to where I was, about 10 mins I imagined when they came past in a flash of colour, I thought I was sure it was Dan in front of a pack of around 5 riders, it was less than 2 minutes later when the young marshal stuck out a red flag, I asked what's happened, he said red flag full course. It was silent as I walked to the van, I got in and headed for Ramsey, it said on the radio that due to a fire near the course it had to be red-flagged, I thought straight away that was nonsense, then suddenly the horrors hit me...DAN, please God no I kept saying, when the message came over from Manx radio the presenter was actually in tears, and so was I. RIP Lad you gave everything you had, you are very much missed.

So, ppl knew there was oil on the track and no one gave a FK to inform the dumb marches that never see the obvious? Idiocracy on it's best... All for the show no matter what!!!... Fkg Disgraceful
@ericzinter95352 жыл бұрын
This was the very first lap of the 2018 Senior TT. First through was Conor Cummins, then James Hillier, who split his case here on the very first lap, depositing a swath of oil right in front of the marshals. Everyone after him (which was everyone but Conor) had to contend with the oil. It did take a few moments for officials to grasp what had happened and to assess and react to the situation but I think the marshals did their best under difficult race conditions, and the race was able to continue. The fact that no one was injured attests to their responsiveness, professionalism and correct handling of what was a potentially deadly situation.

@suffianahmad93512 жыл бұрын
Sir...i think the flagman position is not in the right position. Too short, to inform the jookie/riders 'the message' or for alert something is not enought. The riders move too fast, they absolubely can't focus suddenly.very hard to them to reduce the speed in immediately.therefore the distance the flagman must at right position stand, or i mean need more far before the 'red', 'dangerous' area marked. And another more, the flags must make big more than now using. Thinking...all the riders move in very high speed...thanks.

I think what Dave wanted (and what we'd all prefer) is no music at all. It's the sound of the bikes we want to hear!

This corner at the bottom of Barrowgarrow is probably one of the meanest corners in street bike racing. Launching in a turn, diving straight into a facing rise, and then it slopes down immediately after landing where your suspension is pretty much at full crush. The grip force just about that last white centerline visible where they pull in has to be insane. How the eff do you recover a wobble or being off center on the bike with that kind of g force happening right under your crotch??? Jesus that is incredible. These guys could bounce around the back yard on the balls they haul around in their knickers. Just amazing. 😎😎😎
