I was gifted a Bobcat m371. It's a fun little machine. I just wish it had more than 10HP. It really bogs down when you are turning and the chain drive is buried in an oil filled sump. Changing the axle seals is a real PITA.

I would check to see if that injection pump has an overflow valve on it somewhere like the ppump does on the 12v cummins. That can cause a loss of prime like you're talking about. It can also cause a rough idle.

I have two of these loaders - both with the Detroit Diesel 3-53 engine and air over hydraulic brakes. I reworked the brakes on one of them and it’s a nightmare. Most owners of these units will just do the front axle and call it good. Don’t make a habit of shifting gears while the loader is moving. Allow it to roll to a complete stop or you’ll eventually break an axle where the two axle shafts join. Trust me on this.
@weldingandwheeling988311 күн бұрын
I wish ours was a Detroit powered unit, I agree on the shifting, we are hoping to fix the brakes next before running it much more. To start we are replacing the master cylinder, and hope that starts to solve the issue.

From the symptoms given on the Mack If I had to guess collapsed fuel line from the tank to the filters or to the injection pump the other guess is that there is an air leak somewhere in the system causing the fuel to run back down to the tank collapsed fuel line will allow it to run for a certain period of time until hard acceleration or until enough crap builds up in the line to plug it off they will start again it'll just do the same thing
@weldingandwheeling988312 күн бұрын
Hmm that sounds like a very reasonable possibility.

Lift arms being tweaked can probably be farmer-fixed by strapping the one side down and using the hydraulics to try to lift the arm. Carefully of course.

I was thinking either that or getting creative with wood blocks and using the down force of the hydraulics.

Cheap fix for the dump truck. Just add an electric fuel pump if the lift pump is bad. My dad had a Diesel tractor that behaved much the same way, except it would loose it's prime frequently. Added a 12 volt fuel pump and bi-passed the diesel lift pump. Just a suggestion. ( Cheaper than a complete fuel pump overhaul anyways)

Man if that left rear tire was pulling and had some aggressive mud tires that little thing would get down…..as you said and a tooth bar for the bucket. I like my rock/landscape bucket for moving and cutting dirt more than my tooth bucket, bottom is longer and has flat teeth cut into the cutting edge with vertical metal as the bottom but when you shove it in packed dirt none falls through. This bucket is ideal for sifting through topsoil to get all the grass/rocks out of it before spreading with the standard bucket. Good luck with the little green machine

I just cut that stem out of all those fuel shut off and put a manual in line if its needed. I bought a Gehl 6635 has an 80hp diesel and 9k lbs. love it too just too big sometimes so i scratched up a New Holland L75 with a seized 4cyl wisconsin so im hunting one of those or a 4BT,Shiburu or Kubota 40-60hp diesel engine for it. Put same size tires all way around and will stop the chain from popping over the sprockets, thats like having 3.55 rear and 4.10 rear diff gears in a 4wd truck locked in on pavement and why it was sliding the right rear because its going slower than the front tire, iirc the drive motor directly couples to the rear wheels and chain drives the front off the motor shaft
@weldingandwheeling988313 күн бұрын
I would agree this thing 100% needed proper tires to fix most of its issues. I hope your new holland project goes well! thatll be sweet with a small diesel in it.
