Most old gasoline powered fire trucks had 2 distributors 2 sets of sparkplugs 2 alternators 2. Starters etc. In case one set had an issue you could flip a switch and use the other set.. like a back up system

I found a GREAT 1946 GMC "cab-over" duece-and-a-half (340+ cid I-6 gas and duplex 5-2 tranny), but the Shitty of Tussa won't let me work on it in my driveway or yard. "Enclosed garages only". AND a garage big enough to hold it is "commercial property" and costs $12,000 to $45,000 a year in TAXES!
