6 of my favorite things in this movie: 1. The briefcase suit on the racetrack 2. Need I say more than Natasha Romanoff? 3. The new, triangular Arc reactor 4. Don Cheadle's sass as Rhodey/War Machine 5. All the jokes about Justin Hammer's engineering prowess...or lack, thereof 6. Music

The kid in the iron Man mask who they show twice at the beginning at the end of the film is a young Peter Parker. Howard Stark created The Arc reactor technology and Tony Stark miniaturized the tech which gave the technology actual value. The Arc reactor was prototype technology due to the fact Howard was unable to create the cosmic properties of the element which left Tony unable to repair the damage done his body with the earthly elements until he recreated the cosmic element with a militarized particle accelerator he built in his house. Tony rediscovered and manufactured a synthetic element based off the cosmic cube AKA tesseract just without the cosmic properties. The tesseract will be shown in later MCU projects. Tony is completely at fault in this movie. Anthony did not tell pepper he was dying. Tony was always going to give Rhode a armor but instead of telling Rhodes he trusted him with it. Tony arranged it so they would have to fight which would Force war machine to proving himself against adversity like Tony had to so he will evolve to the person who deserved to wear a iron Man armor. When Rhodes was already worthy of the armor while also having been through much worse trials then Tony at this point. Tony also told Ivan how to make the Arc reactor stronger. Ivan vanko AKA whiplash is not the main villain of this movie it is Justin Hammer who pepper got arrested. Ivan would have been defeated in the second act of the film while Justin cause problems throughout. In the beginning he tried to have the government take Tony's iron Man suits. Justin broke whiplash out of prison while providing him a army of drones then giving him access to the mark 2 iron Man armor which makes him the main villain and another villain defeated by Pepper Potts.

"Neither story explains the sinking of the ship...!" Going in I was already excited because it was an Ang Lee film, but when I saw the uncle 'in the sky' swimming so peacefully, I felt so unprepared for what I was watching much less about to watch. Seeing 'souls' flickering in the downed ship, goosebumps and still speechless. Wonderful watchalong with you two! I think you have already watched the Harry Potter series (yes?), well the reporter (Rafe Spall) is Peter Pettigrew's (Timothy Spall) son. If you want a film with all around master-class acting by him and by the whole cast, please do try Secrets & Lies.

Hello, Tania and Dillon. Long time no see. Speaking of which, now this is a movie that I haven’t seen in years, not since Irrfan Khan, the man who told the story after he lived it, passed away some time ago. I recall watching it many times and like you two, I was amazed of how everything was set up, choreographed, and it was no wonder that it won Academy Awards for Directing, Cinematography and of course, Visual Effects. As time went by, I’ve come to realize what it was trying to portray as I learned it again here. It’s a story how it challenges our beliefs, spirituality and most importantly, our faith in the natural way of things. So much so that Pi was forced to tell those Japanese investigators a tale that sounds more plausible, if not believable. Throughout the entire sequence of his journey, he was putting everything he knew and believed to the test when the tiger just so happens to be another unfortunate survivor of the Tsimtsum. After he was rescued, even though Richard Parker left him to fend for himself, Pi, in his heart, knew that this creature must’ve felt something towards him because how else do you think that they were able to endure such difficult circumstances and incredible moments? At the end of the day, it is up to us what to believe in since he’s the one telling that story; one that is truly… life changing. Sometimes, we’re the ones who get to answer such questions, even if it is inexplicable.

Hey, Tania and Dillon! The X-Men are Marvel Comics superheroes created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1963. The film rights were sold to 20th-Century Fox studios in the 1990s. Therefore, no other Marvel characters could appear in them when the MCU came into existence later and nothing mutant-related could exist in the MCU. The X-Men movies proved team superhero movies were viable and are the reason we have an MCU and DCEU. One major problem with the franchise is that there was no plan going in to make a coherent saga so there are MANY CONTINUITY ERRORS! Another problem is that there is little FIDELITY to the comics other than surface level stuff and the franchise became a showcase for HUGH JACKMAN's Wolverine as the central focus; the comics are much more ensemble pieces. Wolverine is hugely popular among comic readers but the movies became largely his vehicle. When the franchise was rebooted with a younger cast to clear up continuity and fidelity issues, the only explanation for discrepancies between the two sets of films was that they were taking place in MULTIPLE TIMELINES. Despite the confusion, X-Men films are all very ENTERTAINING including the duds and boast terrific action and INCREDIBLE CASTS. The duality between frenemies Charles and Erik is the core of these films. They are allegorical representatives of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X. The action sequences are predicated on coordinating and nullifying powers which laid the foundation for the best superhero fight ever in cinema as it utilizes the same principles: the airport battle in "Captain America: Civil War"! The student who phased through the door when Wolverine first meets Xavier is Katherine "Kitty" Pryde and Rogue's role as Logan's mentee in the film was actually Kitty's role in the comics. Rogue is a flight-capable, heavy-hitting adult in the comics who acquired those abilities when she permanently absorbed Carol "Captain Marvel" Danvers' powers by maintaining contact too long! That incident stripped Carol of her memories and put her in a coma! Jean could have stopped some of the bullets from killing the cops at the train station but wasn't pyschically dexterous enough to stop a barrage which is why Charles stood down at the train station. Mutants are born with latent powers that usually manifest at puberty. They are a different species of humanity called HOMO SUPERIOR which is why there is prejudice against them. Other superheroes are HOMO SAPIENS who acquired their powers in accidents and experiments. Wolverine smelled Mystique's pheromonal scent which differed from Storm's which is how he knew her appearance to be false. He has heightened senses like a predatory animal. The yellow spandex quip directed at Logan by Scott is a tongue-in-cheek reference to Wolverine's comic accurate costume now seen in the "Deadpool & Wolverine" film! Every point Senator Kelly made is absolutely valid and dismissing them out of hand is ill-considered. The argument for Mutant Registration is identical to the Superhuman Registration Act stipulated in the Sokovia Accords in "Civil War". The two arguments are 100% valid. Would you want your kid to go to school with a kid who could shoot lasers from their eyes or shoot flames from their fingers? I think not. Now that Disney owns the film rights, fans are excited to see Kevin Feige adapt them properly. As always, since these are films based on Marvel Comics, STAN LEE has a cameo in most of them. In "X-Men", he was a hot dog vendor on the beach when Senator Kelly emerges from the surf. X-MEN TIMELINES: Egypt --> 1845 --> Nagasaki --> First Class --> DOFP --> Origins ------------------------------------------------> X1 --> X2 --> X3 --> Wolverine ----------> New Mutants -----------> DOFP Utopia Egypt --> 1845 --> Nagasaki --> First Class --> DOFP ----------------> Apocalypse --> Dark Phoenix ------------------------------------------------> Deadpool --> Deadpool 2 ---------------> Logan Egypt --> 1845 --> Nagasaki --> First Class --> DOFP --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------> DOFP Dystopia DO NOT watch the films in release order! Follow this RECOMMENDED ORDER! It keeps the multiple timelines orderly and ends the series with two strong films rather than with two less well-received entries. RECOMMENDED VIEWING ORDER: X-Men X2: X-Men United X3: The Last Stand X-Men Origins: Wolverine X-Men: First Class The Wolverine: EXTENDED CUT X-Men: Days of Future Past: THE ROGUE CUT X-Men: Apocalypse X-Men: Dark Phoenix Deadpool New Mutants Logan Deadpool 2 Deadpool & Wolverine

Except for the very first theatrical release of The Terminator. all subsequent releases, in the end credits. have a line crediting the work of Harlan Ellison. Ellison (died 2018) was a irascible, sometimes infamous writer, including of several television scripts. He wrote the original script for Star Trek's (Original Series) "City on the Edge of Forever" , which won that years World Science Fiction Hugo Award for best screenplay. Before Star Trek, Harlan had wrote a couple of time travel scripts for an earlier series, The Outer Limits. "Demon with a Glass Hand" was the one most directly influential on Cameron's first Terminator script. Copies of the Terminator script circulated around LA, and Harlan heard about the similarities. Harlan called up Cameron and (supposedly) politely asked for a simple credit of acknowledgment, and no money. James Cameron blew off Harlan Ellison. Big mistake... Harlan was as free in filing lawsuits as any Scientologist. The short of it, in an out-of-court settlement, Harlan got $70K (a token, really, considering it was a box office hit) and those subsequent release credits. If you ever get the chance, ask James Cameron what he thinks about Harlan Ellison...
