Yeah, Cole was more of a father to Aegon than Viserys was. He loved both boys in his own way. I'm not a fan of cole, but I know he did care for those boys.

And at least in book canon, after Aegon's injury at Rooks Rest, he only allows his mother and Ser Criston to see him. I think he clearly cares for Alicent's children, beyond his duty to protect them.

I think it's rather that Cole sees Aegon's unworthiness as king, or more to the point that Aemond is the infinitely more capable brother.

Possessing Harrenhal isn’t about actually possessing the castle itself. Not since Harren’s death. Harrenhal’s lands are some of the most valuable in the riverlands. The Frey’s would bring in incomes from the Twins and Harrenhal. Like owning an entire corner in Monopoly!

they also get food from the reach but there is war in the reach because cole killed beesbury and otto killed other lords when they took the throne last season. most of those houses where from the reach. so food is not being delivered

Most of the trade of food and suplies relies heavyly from essos since essos and westeros divide by the narrow they have to do it via merchants ship and the since narrow sea is blockade by the velaryon's ship all of the trade and buy and sell activity is closed understand from here ???

Honestly I thought it made sense since its easier to move goods by ship than by land since by land requires scores of carriages and horses but then looking at the map its not really like there would be any good ports on the east coast of Westeros for goods to be loaded to Kings Landing anyway. I'm also not buying the Essos theory as there's no way those desert lands are more fertile for crop over Westeros. I can't really fathom how Kings Landings food would be delivered majority by sea over land when all the fertile farmland is right next to it. I understand trade for coin but that'd be goods going out and coin coming in and I highly doubt they just stopped supplying Kings Landing with food because they didn't have the coin to pay for it in a time of war.

Outside of extenuating circumstances, royal line of succession always goes to firstborn male before siblings. If the heir is still a child, then a regent is appointed who rules until he comes of age.

Rhaenyra cutting off supply lines to lay siege to a city is run-of-the-mill war tactics. Everyone, including the Ned Starks of this world would probably consider it regrettable but necessary. And they didn’t starve anyone. If anything, the Greens made sealing off the Gullet a million times worse because of their war rationing and blocking movement. I mean they’re all awful and the people should rule themselves instead of the white haired incest cult but within the confines of the show’s morality, what Rhaenyra did is fairly common place. And is intended to force peaceful surrender

Seeing Alicent get passed over for being a woman, the way she tried to have Rhaenyra passed over will never not amuse me.

Rhaenrya didn't just get passed over because she's a woman. She also committed treason by placing bastards in line for the throne. Likewise Alicent didn't just get passed over because she's a woman. Note that Otto also got passed over. Aemond is the best choice to lead the war effort because he rides the world's largest dragon. In fact, if Rhaenrya had all the dragons, do you honestly believe Aegon would be king? It isn't just about sex. It's about the law and tradition and power. Visenya was able to put her son Maegor on the throne ahead of his nephew who was the named heir because Maegor rode Balerion. Did she usurp the throne? Obviously. But she could because she had power and so did her son. It's worth noting that Rhaenrya admired Visenya so much that she named her stillborn daughter Visenya.

@@havok6280 no she didn't 🙄 The king accepted her children over and over and over. It is literally the last thing he ever did. It's not treason if the king says it is ok, but some random Earth peasant says it is treason. Otto doesn't get passed over. He isn't even there. And even if he was, he is just the ex hand, with no authority once the king took it away. Alicent served as queen for decades, and had all the knowledge and experience to do so effectively again. And one of them even said, "what would it look like if we chose a woman after saying Rhaenyra can't be Queen?" Someone riding the biggest dragon shouldn't necessarily be planning a war effort, and engaging in politics. If anything, the fact that he will so often be gone and fighting would make it harder and less practical for him to rule. In the book, isn't he gone evading Daemon for weeks/months? And then he SPOILERS gets himself killed while the realm still needs ruling. And Rhaenyra admires Visenya because Visenya was the fighter she wishes she was.
