Part of the issue with how the finale ended with all the pieces of war moving into place, but not big climactic battle is that HBO tightened budgets, and that forced them to reduce the number of episodes because they didn't have the resources to film the big battle sequences on the reduced budget, so they ended season 2 with the setup in this episode, and the battle that was originally planned to cap off this season will come at the beginning of season 3.

The "God's Eye" is the large lake that Harrenhal is built next to. The "Isle of Faces" (the island with thousands of Weirwood trees) is in the middle of it, from above, it looks like a big eye.

My favorite story arcs were the Harrenhal/Daemon visions that pushed him to abandon his personal quest for power, and the gradual revelation of Helaena's seemingly random musings to be visions of things to come that she didn't quite understand, but finally began to embrace. As with Mrs. TV, Helaena is becoming a favorite of mine.

I think the way the show is doing it is Helaena's day dreams perhaps allow her to occupy the same place the Three eyed raven and children's magic work and was able to connect with Daemon since he was using that magic and she was also day dreaming at the time. She clearly lingers there because she see's the future like you can there.

You were pointing at the Isle of Faces. The Godseye is the body of water around it. You could say Daemon's dreamer abilities appeared to him late in his life. He knows what is at stake now, being at Harrenhal has been a good thing for him. With Aegon leaving Kings Landing, its going to look like Alicent broke the deal and that can have dire consequences.

10 Episodes were planned/outlined, Warner Bros told all divisions to spend-less-money, so they stopped before the expensive battle with an Episode 8 of nice little scenes but no Finale or aftermath.

Technically, she shouldn't be the focus among all of Alicent's children. If I were to rank who should be more important to the story in the third season, it would be Aemond = Daeron > Aegon > Helaena...

There's like 11 Aegons throughout recorded Targaryen dynasty. 5 of them became kings, and you only get the numbered title (first of his name, second of his name, so on & so forth) if you reign. So anyone calling Jon Snow Aegon VI doesn't know how monarchy works. He's just another Aegon Targaryen among many. There are Aegon Targaryens between kings and they get skipped over because, well, they didn't rule. Alicent's son here is Aegon II after Aegon the Conqueror as first, even though there's another Aegon that was born before him. Also, the reason why they recycle names is to bask on the glory of its former owner, like that of Aegon the Conqueror, or honoring a loved one. Take Rhaenyra's kids from Daemon for example, one is Aegon and the other is Viserys. This naming scheme isn't uncommon even in our own monarch history.

The problem with s2 is HBO decided to cut the last 2 episodes ofthe season like a month before filming so they had no time to change things. The last 2 episodes are most likely gonna be s3ep1/2 (which leaves only 6 episodes for s3 storyline which is even bigger season but whatever). There was supposed to be big battle in ep9/10 which is kinda sad. Idk, overall the season was just fine and the highlight is definitely Aegon for me ( idk if they even planned that haha ). Well, they ruined some of the characters beyond saving now, mainly Helaena, Alicent and Rhaenyra but it won't make sense without spoiling so yeah. Idk what thought process made alicent betray her entire family and Helaena now helping daemon of all people (while also giving spoilers out of nowhere now) but I guess our 2 lovely producers really are better than martin himself

I think it's to prepare the audience that somehow Rhaynera takes a heel turn and Aegon disposes her. Since she is the favorite character of the show. But I rather let that be a shock. GOT was great at showing shocking deaths that made since plot & story wise. Since the show will only have 4 seasons, it's will be another rushed ending like GOT.

It's that they whitewashed the shit out of her. Jace was the main guy for blacks at that point, HE sent his brothers away, HE made the dragonseeds etc, in the show its all thanks to rhaenyra while for some reason B&C is not her fault or septa scene shit and wanting for peace. Who cares Rhaenyra was power hungry woman, they gave her some prophecy so she cant be wrong anymore.

This is just a guess from me and I haven't read the books, Helena said Aegon will be king again, but on a wooden throne. Maybe he becomes the three eyed Raven. When Damon touches the God's Wood Tree, there is a blonde dude in a tree. I may be very wrong also.

Someone had previously brought up that the dragons and their riders have the same type souls. Aadam of Hull and Sea Smoke are both very restless. Hugh Hammer and Vermithor are honorable. Ulf and Silverwing are a bit playful, easy going. And now Rhaena and the wild dragon have had to fend the wilds. This is how I see it, anyway.

If I had to guess Helena is being taught just like Bran in GOT she is suppose to be a 3 eye Raven but does she want it ? That's the biggest question this show will end up showing us because Helena in the book not a lot was known about her this show is giving us more the mere fact she has dreams and even can enter others dreams makes her very powerful seer she has to be learning to be a 3 eye Raven she has to be in this show but we shall see what happens because some one has to be reaching out to her perhaps its the 3 eye Raven from the future in that darn tree making crap happen here in HOT D ! Like I said the 3 eye Raven isn't good something sticks about his character he could of stopped all this and didn't he told us at end of GOT he came to Kings Landing to be King we know he is a bastard Brandon Rivers he is 1/2 tar he isn't born yet he will be shown to us in Duncan egg story that's when his story takes off and as a bastard tar he never could reach king but he became a very powerful hand to the king and killed more Tars in line to be king then any other Hand o yeah he is related to Alice Rivers so way hope the show explains there connection it kind makes her a player in this game as well is she the mother of the 3 eye Raven in GOT um interesting because she isn't a Tar so who is the father of the 3 eye Raven in GOT because Brandon Rivers is the 3 eye Raven he is a bastard Tar so who is his Daddy ? Some one from this time line I am guessing

Okay first off Jon Snow wasn't proven by anyone to be the prince that was promised and it was actually shown to us in House of Dragon threw Daemon vision that there are 3 players to come in the future that are playing the GOT its the 3 eye Raven who to me is the villain of the show he changed the past and future he even showed us all he could do it with Bran when he effected Hodor and Jamie from GOT told us the Mad King kept saying over and over and over Burn them all Burn them all sounds like Hodor to me don't it ? The Mad king didn't go mad he was messed up by the 3 eye Raven and not only that he tells us he isn't Bran anymore he is 3 eye Raven that girl with Bran tells us he died in that cave its kind of like the emperor in Star Wars he took over Bran body its the 3 eye Raven and he has all Brans memories he has ZERO Fu@@s about anyone human and he wanted to be King his whole life the 3 eye Raven we seen in GOT isn't even born yet he is BRANDON RIVERS same last name as Alice and like her powerful in magic we all seen it. Helena is in training to be a 3 eye Raven she has the vision the sight and the ability to appear to others which we all seen she is being turned into the 3 eye Raven way before the one from GOT was even born yet remember he told us there were many 3 eye Ravens! Also The Night King and Dani are the only other 2 players Jon isn't the prince that was promised its Dani her dragons were born out of fire and without her the Night king kills everyone Jon never stood a chance vs the Night King we seen him try and he raised all the dead it was Dani dragons and fire that kept everyone alive long enough for Arya to kill the Night king who only came south because of the 3 eye Raven taken another body freeing himself from the tree you notice that fact no one even mentions it he came south and went right after Bran aka 3 eye Raven perhaps he never comes south to kill anyone if the 3 eye Raven stays idle in that tree! Just saying Daemon seen the future he seen the 3 main players Jon Snow wasn't one of them people just because he was named Aegon like a ton of others he never had the ability to defeat the Night King but Dani had the one thing the Night king and 3 eye Raven couldn't really control the dragons you notice the 3 eye Raven couldn't morg into a dragon he needed Jon to kill Dani otherwise she wins the game Jon Snow was a pawn in this game used by Bran! If there is a Jon Snow movie he will have to kill the real threat to all man kind the one person who can changed the past and mold the future its possible the Lord of Light is the 3 eye Raven he could of made every event happen in every time line he is truthfully the only player in the GOT! The show writers have already told us that no one has been named the Prince that was promised it actually might of been both of them but without Dani and her birthing dragons because the story of the prince that was promised actually fits Dani life not Jon aka Aegon !

I loved this season. It would’ve been perfect if HBO didn’t force them to cut it short. A big battle at sea or King’s landing with a nice cliffhanger would’ve made this a 100 for me.
