Hey, Sasha, how did you make that ambience? As far as I know there is no sounds of sirens and alarms in the real game, there is also no sound of combine screens like here 37:00. Even some locations isn't like in the game. For example this street 10:00 is a bit different from the in-game one, cuz you get working combine field here, while in the game its not working until the CP raid and also there is no Sofia calling for Alyx through the window in the video. If someone knows what is that, SFM or just a workshop map, pls tell. Also how did he remove all music, its not possible in the settings

Kinda disappointed with the hla sound design, hl1 and hl2 made sure every sound was recognisable and memorable while hla just so generic

when you shoot the headcrab off of a zombie, with some variations the face is completely melted off, the eyes are gone with only sockets left. but they are still alive, despite losing the flesh off their hands, having their chest torn open with their organs falling out, and their entire body is soaked with blood and coated in dirt, with tons of parasitic toxins going through their body.

Once attached, the head crab skins your face while you're alive. It also secretes something similiar to human saliva, but the head crab saliva is acidic. It literally tenderizes you slowly so mr. Crabby on top of you head pulls your skin off, devoures it then starts eating your facial tissue/muscle. Your eyes included. It attaches it's tenticles to your brain via your optic nerve channels and controls your body. However, you are still YOU! Extremely painful, and terrifying as you know you're going to die. After some time passes by, you are effectively full zombie and the YOU part is gone.

The way the combine were engineered here makes them seem way better at containing/attacking human forces rather than antlions/necrotics. Their strategies are very good at breaching but not as good for defense. Rebel compounds fall easily to even just 1 or 2 gunships and maybe a few actual combine soldiers being deployed, no wonder nova prospekt fell so easily once their thumpers went down.

These definitely would fit for the construction strider or maybe an elite strider, but i feel like the regular standard combat strider should have revamped sounds more akin to hl2

This reminds me so much of the Infected from The Last of Us. In certain areas of the game, you can hear Infected moaning or groaning in pain. In the first section after the Intro, you can hear an Infected woman crying as she eats somebody, sobbing, "NOOO... I DON'T WANNA!" The most disturbing zombie is the kind that knows what's happening and can't stop it.
