Personally i really like the sounds, now i wish that we got a mix of them where they sound like the ones from HL2 once you weaken them, and then they outright use the original death sound.

I’ve just had a thought, since it’s implied that the combine did some genetic engineering with the headcrabs what if they made it so headcrabs kept their victims conscious? We never heard them scream like this in half life 1

I keep this on loop while storming Nova Prospekt. Makes me feel like I'm listening in on their comms while I'm causing all that chaos.

While I like the sounds in HL2 more, Striders from that game always made sounds similar to these, if not as mechanical sounding, and I do like these sounds as well. But alas, nothing comes close to the iconic screams of alert1.wav and die.wav from HL2

Hey, Sasha, how did you make that ambience? As far as I know there is no sounds of sirens and alarms in the real game, there is also no sound of combine screens like here 37:00. Even some locations isn't like in the game. For example this street 10:00 is a bit different from the in-game one, cuz you get working combine field here, while in the game its not working until the CP raid and also there is no Sofia calling for Alyx through the window in the video. If someone knows what is that, SFM or just a workshop map, pls tell. Also how did he remove all music, its not possible in the settings

Kinda disappointed with the hla sound design, hl1 and hl2 made sure every sound was recognisable and memorable while hla just so generic

when you shoot the headcrab off of a zombie, with some variations the face is completely melted off, the eyes are gone with only sockets left. but they are still alive, despite losing the flesh off their hands, having their chest torn open with their organs falling out, and their entire body is soaked with blood and coated in dirt, with tons of parasitic toxins going through their body.

As probably most people during these times, i'm suffering alot from some mental bullshit for various reasons, then i try to think about how much worse life could have been and think about headcrab zombies... I mean the bullshit is still there but still, perspective i guess
